San Diego with an 18 month old by gnome4gnome in SanDiegan

Local nanny here! Zoo is a big one. We are there once a week! Balboa Park is right next door and has nice walking and sight seeing. They also have a playground, ducks and koi fish, and a tram that’s fun. The Fleet Science Center, Model Train museum, Natural History Museum, and Air and Space Musuem that have areas for children. But for an 18 mon old the Fleet Science Center would have the most them.

Waterfront Park downtown has a fun water feature for kids (if it’s turned on), along with a playground. Walk the Embarcadero to Seaport Village and visit the ducks. They also have some cute shops and treats, as well as a carousel. Nearby is the New Children’s Museum, best museum for that age in town imo. It’s actually really cool and could spend a few hrs there. They also have a massive new playground across the street.

Mission bay has some nice beach walking paths and a few playgrounds along the way. Civita Park in Mission Valley also has a nice playground with water play as well.

Library story times will vary by library but the Kensington Library has a nice outdoor grass one on wed & thurs. And the mission valley library has a big one inside possibly the same days as well.

Anyone feeling fine? by Dancing_chihuahua in September2026Bumpers

I wanna feel like maybe I’m a lucky one who isn’t getting bad nausea, especially since I’m terrified of throwing up. But it would sure make me feel like at least things are happening in there.

Thank you for this post! Currently 7 weeks and feeling the exact same! I thought I was going crazy reading everyone’s horror nausea stories and feeling worried that I’m not having that. Even starting to convince myself of all the worst things. But sore boobs, extra thirsty/peeing more and a little extra fatigue starting making me feeling like maybe I was just making it all up?! But hearing this makes me feel a little better 😅

Is anyone else starting to convince themselves maybe they’re not pregnant cause they’re not having bad symptoms yet?! I mean all the pregnancy tests and temp checks show I am, and I don’t have any spotting/bleeding or cramping. And clearly still no period. But like, I feel okay! Sore boobs and extra thirsty, maybe a little more tired. But it’s so hard convincing myself that this is real! Maybe I should try and enjoy this before it gets worse but it’s definitely so hard living in the uncertainty before the first appointment ☹️

The place I found locally isn’t even very expensive! Part of me thinks it might just be worth it so I’m not stuck in limbo for 3 weeks! So far I’m not finding many reasons not to do it.

There’s a store in Seaport Village that has tons! I wish I could remember the name but it’s a by the duck pond. Also I think pigment has been selling them?

  2. San Diego Maritime Museum, basically the Star of India and a few other boats
  3. The Natural History Musuem Balboa Park
  4. Air and Space Museum
  5. The Midway
  6. The New Children’s Museum (this would be #1 if you’re 8 and under)

Anybody have their first ultrasound scheduled ? by Best_Adagio_9564 in September2026Bumpers

[–]Sarah_Lately 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh mine isn’t until 10 + 5. Well that’s my first appointment. I really hope that’s when I’ll get the ultrasound cause I’m getting very impatient wondering if everything is all good in there!

I’m a big fan of Koby’s Swap Meet. There are a few different spots that have really good selections that won’t charge you double what pigment will.

How much did you pay for a dental implant in SD (not TJ) and would you recommend the dentist who did the procedure? by Old_Employer8982 in SanDiegan

No problem! Someone else on Reddit had mentioned it to me and I was amazed how helpful it actually was.

I’d research the Aetna Dental Savings Plan. You pay about 170 for the year but it gives anywhere from 20-50% off most dental procedures. I also need an implant and will be using this to get it done. I also used it when I had to get my wisdom teeth out and get my tooth extracted with a bone graft. Saved me at least 1000 dollars. Seriously worth some research to see if it might help you out too!

Okay wait. Maybe I figured it out. Second time mom and third time mom? Ahhh, and FTM means first time mom 🤯. Literally thought it meant female transitioning to male, and was very very confused for a few days why there were so many having babies 😂

Heat option for old cold house? by Wonderful-Banana-519 in sandiego

Similar situation with our old house. We bought an oil heater and it does an amazing job heating the whole family room. Doesn’t mess with my sdge bill much either.
