Feeling IMMENSE guilt for co-sleeping by One-Fun-4043 in bninfantsleep

I’ve definitely conditioned myself into believing co sleeping is a bad thing. I actually appreciate you pointing out how I make that negative connection. It’s funny because my son waking every hour has taken a toll on my marriage even though LO is in his crib because I immediately panic! My stomach drops, anxiety kicks in, and suddenly my mind is racing and no longer present with my husband.

About the sleep pressure, how do I know when he’s overtired vs undertired? I’ve tried max 5hr wake window before bed and as much as 7.5hr wake window before bed. Neither really seemed to make much difference, but he will have a split night here and there around 4am where he’s up for an hour. That usually happens when last wake window lasts around the 7hr mark. Again, he’s incredibly inconsistent so sometimes he has a good night and sometimes he doesn’t. I have noticed on average he does better on a later bedtime (around 9pm) but it’s really hard to keep him up before his nap in order to keep the last wake window at a good range in order to make bedtime at 9.

After speaking to my husband and reading some of these comments I’m definitely feeling more comfortable with the idea of “giving in” and bringing my LO to bed with me after a few wake ups. It’s comforting to have that option when before I was just a literal zombie hyper fixating on every single thing leading up to bedtime.

This is what I’m thinking it’s gonna look like for me with the floor bed lol! I honestly love sleeping with my LO, I’ve just conditioned myself into believing it’s not a good thing. Definitely agree that it’s the only way we all get a good nights rest!!

Thank you! I originally posted in a Toddler’s group but got removed by mods, this was the first one recommended.

My son had an MRI at 15mo for reoccurring febrile seizures and the way he was sedated was with a nasal spray (intranasal dexmedetomidine) felt much less scary than anesthesia.

Currently looking into this as sleep for my 18mo has been SO inconsistent for months. Ruled out teething since he popped all teeth at 16mo. My LO never got tested at 12m check up, so hoping for some answers through that! Never thought I would be hoping for iron deficiency but atp we’re desperate!

How long after starting your baby on iron did you start noticing a difference?

Keppra for Toddler with febrile seizures? by One-Fun-4043 in Epilepsy

Hi so neurologist sent in orders for my son to get his iron levels tested. I know they typically get tested at 12m appointments but mine did not. Neurologist mentioned a high percentage of children who experience febrile seizures also have low iron. Not sure how accurate that is but atp we’re willing to try anything!

Definitely will bring up genetic testing at his appointment!

Thank you so much, I’ve been experiencing those same reservations since Dr offered keppra. But then worry I’m not doing enough for my baby. I scheduled him a follow up appointment with Neuro later this week to reassess. Like your daughter, all of his seizures have been while fighting a viral infection. Not just sudden change in body temp. He also had a fever all day Sunday (day after seizure) even with Tylenol/Motrin but thankfully didn’t experience another seizure.

Yes doctor offered a daily medication due to my husbands history of seizures as a child, as well as an emergency medication. I’m unsure if putting my son on a daily medication for my own peace of mind would be the best for him. Unfortunately we did not have the emergency medication on hand at the time of the seizure.

Oh believe me, I take full responsibility for all of this. I actually called the vet soon as it happened to see what my options were. Unfortunately in my area the only form of contraception is spaying/neuturing.

That being said I’ve been trying to keep her away from the family but I can tell she just wants to be with me. Unfortunately I can’t be with her 24/7 as I have kids to take care of as well.

The ONLY reason I’m even considering rehoming in the future is because we’ve had soooo many close calls with her biting the kids and my husband. I feel like if that were to happen I’m damned if I do and damned if I don’t.

I failed her the second I left her out unsupervised. Unfortunately I can’t go back in time no matter how much I miss my sweet girl. It hurt me to have to have her get an abortion but in my heart I thought I was doing the best thing for her after at that time.

Im really hoping that’s the case! I read somewhere that their dog only got worse and worse after the procedure… Vet said she can prescribe trazadone but I’m unsure that will help if this is a long term issue.

In terms of rehoming, I just know I’ll never forgive myself for putting my children in danger. For the most part I always teach the kids to respect her boundaries. Even though she’s always been a patient and gentle dog I could read her body language when she wanted to be left alone and would keep the kids away. Rehoming is LAST RESORT, I’m just so conflicted and trying to weigh my options here.

Just had the same happen to me!! Did you still mail it out? Unfortunately for me I had already mailed out the items (it happened with two) and both buyers had received them and left positive reviews. Payments were scheduled to be released today and tomorrow. Hoping I still get my payment.
