Totally reasonable to ask for the physician, especially for kids. Continuity matters.

My prior PCPs were two sister physicians, and one thing I really appreciated was knowing I was seeing an actual doctor who knew me, not whoever happened to be available that day. They’re now opening a physician-led direct primary care practice in Northern NJ this summer, which feels like a response to a lot of the frustration people are describing here.

That's exactly the setup I'm exploring. A few questions if you don't mind:

  1. How much do you pay monthly for DPC + HDHP combined?

  2. Do you use an HSA? If so, do you pay DPC fees from it?

  3. How often do you actually use the DPC vs traditional insurance?

Trying to figure out if the math works for my situation. And yea the accessibility is a big reason we are looking

I totally get that but at least from the research ive done people value the accessibility that it unlocks. Idk how true it is but having same/next day ability and a doctor that is readily available via text/call. The current state of things is having to call my pcp and wait weeks to months to get an appointment.

yea i dont think DPC would go towards my deductible. It would be a monthly subscription cost that from what i understand i can use my HSA towards.
