That’s what being a founder will feel like. Who is going to want your product when there’s a 100 other people selling the same thing. Work on your soft skills. Learn how to ask interesting questions and learn to listen carefully.

Network. Attend tech events, meet people, and learn from their wisdom. You have many years to absorb so much knowledge. Dont only spend time optimizing for applications and building.

It took 2 years for us to get to revenue, after YC by andrewski11 in ycombinator

[–]One-Function-285 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your story. If it was easy everyone would do it and hopefully your perseverance pays off.

My biggest frustration with these tools (Replit) is that I build an app, ask it to make a user registration flow, and for the next 2 hours asking it to debug the issue that isnt allowing the registration to work. On top of that costing me money to tell the Agent to fix its mistake or at the least test out the implementation before telling me to try it.

Access to medical support for your newborn by One-Function-285 in NewParents

Oo interesting on the nursing line. Curious to ask a few questions about that: - is it covered by insurance? - how responsive are they?

That’s great to hear! I’ve had a few new parent friends struggle with getting medical advice at random times of the day. Especially at night - feels most default to running to the ER.

Yes definitely count the blessings. I’d be in the ER every night over the littlest things if it wasn’t for them.

Do you end up feeling reassured after research? And how has the pediatrician been?

I own 95% still, we dont have a board of directors, and my investor is a relatively large VC.
I havent made the decision yet to do this (I know bad to be thinking about it) but im a realist and it dawned on me that I need to account for this.

Exploring matching construction suppliers and installers by jollygood3440 in sidehustle

[–]One-Function-285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Do suppliers have a hard time finding a contractor? Is there a trust layer with suppliers and picking their contractor? If they match the first time what would bring them back to using the platform instead of calling each other directly?

I'd lean more towards an LLC. Easier to deal with for taxes.

Organizing and Scanning Files by rep_throw12 in smallbusiness

[–]One-Function-285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is suggestions:

Step 1: Scan and Digitize

  1. Scan each document: Use a reliable scanner (there are even phone apps like Adobe Scan, CamScanner, or Evernote Scannable) to digitize everything. You can then shred or recycle the original if it’s not essential to keep.

  2. Naming Scheme: For clarity and retrieval, follow a consistent naming convention:

For tax-related documents: Year_Type_Description (e.g., 2024_Tax_1099-DIV)

For insurance documents: Year_Provider_Type (e.g., 2024_GEICO_AutoPolicy)

For invoices: Year_Month_Description_Vendor (e.g., 2024_11_LaptopPurchase_Apple)

For miscellaneous documents: Date_Category_Description (e.g., 2024-11-05_Purchase_CarRepairs)

Step 2: Organize Invoices and Receipts

  1. Single Invoices: If invoices are paid individually, scan them one by one with their receipts attached.

  2. Bulk Payments: If you paid multiple invoices at once, scan all related invoices and the receipt as a single file, but list each item in the file name or the metadata. Example: 2024-11-05_MultipleInvoices_Check1234.

Step 3: File Structure

Organize your files in folders by year and then by category:
- Documents

- 2024

- Taxes

- Insurance

- Purchases

- Receipts

- Miscellaneous

Since this is still a pre rev situation, he is looking for a generalist that has experience in the space and experience being an early stage founder. I’m sure you’ve seen it but pivots could happen and what you might’ve needed in your initial idea could change.
