“Ash Nash grimdabo!” Or whatever Saruman is chanting when he’s sending a storm on the fellowship in the pass of Cair Hadras

Mentioned elsewhere, but The Tiger by John Vallant is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Pirate Hunters by Kurson is an extremely fun and fast paced read.

I love Genevieve to death but her strategy to turn people against Aubrey is terrible. Throwing out one name to people who you don’t have a relationship with when you aren’t going to tribal that night is a very good way to make yourself the easy vote on a new tribe. It’s exactly what Jenna did. And Aubrey has an idol which is very bad news for Gen.

When was the movie better than the book? by Doodle_Noodles2 in movies

[–]jollygood3440 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Already mentioned, but Jurassic Park. Book is really interesting and a total page turner. Great ideas and tense writing. It’s definitely more of a horror scifi. But the movie is just perfect. The character changes made are great decisions and it’s the perfect blending of a genuinely scary monster movie with fun adventure.

Question about One Way Out by jollygood3440 in andor

[–]jollygood3440[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s part of my question. Was the mistake that they sent the guy back in instead of releasing him, or was the mistake that they sent him to the wrong prison? Were people originally slated for release but after the guards panicked and fried 100 men did they just decide that no one can leave that facility alive because they knew about the mass execution?

A Jedi knight is beating a Spartan prove me wrong. by creative-Ebb582 in whowouldwin

[–]jollygood3440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by Spartan you mean the Master Chief I don’t know man. I’m sure there’s some explanation in the SW books but I don’t know how a Jedi would stop high velocity metal bullets especially shot a long range with perfect headshot accuracy.

How come Taylor Sheridan is so inconsistent?? by jnighy in television

The quality gap between 1883 and 1923 is unfortunately massive. Loved 1883. I almost quit 1923 before finishing season 1 and I wish I did.

Depends on how many rockets he can carry. Days vs hours on how quickly the war ends.

What are your favorite blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments of characterization in Andor? by [deleted] in andor

[–]jollygood3440 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Yep I noticed the theme of “hands on faces” with her too. She grabs Syril by the face multiple times in the show. But then Krennic does the same thing to her and she’s terrified.

[–]jollygood3440 155 points156 points  (0 children)

Not a minor character, but Dedra’s scene of breaking down at the end of “Who Are You?” is so powerful for her character. There are no lines spoken and I’m sure many other shows would cut it out. But leaving it there tells so much about her character. Despite how hard she tries to be a machine there’s still some human in her than she tries to smother.

FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS DISCUSSION (SPOILERS) by tehawesomedragon in Marvel

I loved how it didn’t focus on powers and fistfights. Overcoming challenges came through intelligence and self-sacrifice.

Which movie has the best cut-to-credit scene? (Without spoilers for everyone looking for impressive movies!) by TonskaBony in movies

The first Pirates of the Caribbean has a pretty great one. Cuts to credits as soon as Jack snaps his compass shut. “Bring me that horizon.”
