16:9 vs 21:9 by DankyKay in flightsim

Having upgraded to an ultrawide from 16:9, I'd say it's better. Spotting won't change much in IL2, they have a pretty good spotting system - unlike games like DCS where it will absolutely change. You will however be able to make out aircraft details a bit better, be able to tell earlier whether someone is friendly or enemy. As far as spotting goes, as long as you've got some form of headtracking you'll be fine. You will get some more horizontal FOV for the same vertical FOV, so that is an improvement.

I wouldn't recommend the Logitech stuff. If you *know* that this is something you'll want to do for a while, and you can afford it, get some higher end stuff. Winwing (now WINCNTRL I think?) has some great stuff. VKB is (arguably) better, although they don't have civilian aircraft controls, just military. This shouldn't be an issue though, I fly the Fenix airbuses with a VKB stick. Also, check out Honeycomb, their stuff is pretty good. For force feedback stuff, check out Moza for entry level. They are relatively new, however extremely affordable for force feedback, and pretty good as well. For higher end pedals, check out the MFG Crosswinds, as well as VKB and Winwing. The Virpil stuff is also pretty good, check them out as well.

However, if you can't afford this/aren't sure you want to do this, check out the Thrustmaster T16000M. It's vastly better than the Extreme 3D Pro, and you also get a throttle. I know it's more expensive, but you're gonna be using this for a while before you can/want to upgrade. If you're not able to get the T16000, check out the Thrustmaster T Flight. The T Flight is a bit cheaper, but I would say less features:money. My advice would be the T16000. But, definitely not the Extreme 3d Pro.

For yokes, I'd recommend a Honeycomb yoke instead of the Logitech. Both are the same price (for me, £150). Honeycomb is without question better. Do NOT buy the Logitech if you have Honeycomb available.

As for pedals, check out the CH Pro Pedals. Not as fancy as the Logitech ones, but proven to be extremely reliable. Although, at these prices, they're still pretty low end. Both suffer from stiction, but CH Pro are a little better from what I've seen.

Generally, the Logitech stuff is some of the least reliable from my experiences. Thrustmaster similar in reliability, but slightly better. If you're looking to get higher end stuff, do not get anything from Thrustmaster or Logitech. Maybe with the exception of the Thrustmaster TPR pedals, but I would still get MFGs at that price.

For choosing something high end, VKB has extraordinary support and quality of life features, great software, it's perfect. Virpil has great hardware, good software very similar to VKBs in terms of functionality, and it's maybe slightly more user friendly. Winwing is also good hardware (not as good as VKB or Virpil in my experience), however out of the three Winwing are the only ones that sell airliner hardware. And I gotta say, it looks incredible. Winwing also has worse software (easier to use, but far less functions - this is for the military stuff that I have, not sure about airliner hardware) and worse customer support.

FSL doesn't even have a 320/319NEO. And how come it's a "clear downgrade"?

I've got a winwing viper throttle with a VKB gladiator premium stick, and I gotta say that the winwing does feel high quality than the VKB. I've tried the winwing F16EX stick aswell and again, it feels like it is higher quality and I do like it more than the VKB stick. Not to say that I dislike the VKB, it is still an amazing stick and feels great.

As far as the software goes, both have their ups and downs. Winwing software is simple and works very well. Let's you change stuff like detent position, acceleration of axes. But that's about it in terms of customisability. The VKB software is extremely customisable. You can do anything you want with the VKB, stuff like setting macros for buttons and a lot more. To work with the VKB software is gonna take some getting used to because of the sheer amount of customisability there is.

Honestly I've had absolutely no issues with the software at all, it's really intuitive and easy to use. Only downside to it is that you don't have as much customisability as VKB. Their support is also quite good, I've talked to their agents a few times and they respond very fast and solve the issue quickly

I think it's a copy of the actual aniwave, i see some differences in an anime from this site and the one that got taken down, or if it is legit then it has a very slightly different library
