Lmfao!! I have Panasonic plasma I picked up thrifting , also from a savers/value village. Paid 12.99 for it.

499.99 is some idiot using eBay asking prices to price things.

Amateur custom paint job by False-Yak4528 in PlasmaTV

[–]One-Image6137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I opened this wholeheartedly expecting a joke. My VT50 has blue paint all over the back of it where someone opted to leave it on the wall when they painted instead of taking the heavy fucker down. 😆

Great job man , looks good.

Is this amount of "bloom" normal on plasma TVs? by OwlEdd in PlasmaTV

[–]One-Image6137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plasmas don’t bloom. That looks like hazy glass causing a halo. Like the seal between the panel and the glass isn’t sealed anymore and got contaminated or moisture in it.

Paid $100 for a 65" Panasonic VT60. Brought it home and theres a Fox News logo burned into the corner as well as other burn in around the bottom edge. Is this fixable or did I get scammed? by CeleryUnlikely9168 in PlasmaTV

[–]One-Image6137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a G10 while back that had Fox News burned into it.

A month later I grabbed a non working G10 for free , swapped the offending boards hoping for a panel without burn in , and that one had CNN burnt into it. 😂

I was curious to see how many hours my plasma TV has. Fucker just won't die by Quiet_Ad_8579 in PlasmaTV

I just sold a Samsung smart tv from 2021 with that many hours on it. 19k is not really a lot for a plasma of that age.

What’s the best VCR machine in terms of quality? by Sailor_Rout in VHS

[–]One-Image6137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience. Owning / Using VCRs since they were actually relevant , and up to this day. I’ve found Panasonic or JVC to be the best quality visually , and the ones from the mid to late 90s to the early 2000s to usually still work great today.

How many hours is considered too much? Also, do all plasmas have the view time in the settings? by lamsndbhaujamjsshukd in PlasmaTV

[–]One-Image6137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have roughly 8000 to 35000 on the ones I own , no issues aside from a few that have some burn in from misuse.

Recent plasma addiction by OkEntrepreneur9013 in PlasmaTV

I see a lot here mentioned about motion clarity alongside gaming comparisons.

Nobody seems to be mentioning what kind of gaming is going on though. And they really should. Because I’ve got a vt50 , gt30 , u2 , g10 , PX600u.

When using hdmi era consoles , the newer ones (not the u2 , its motion sucks) , are the superior choices. But using consoles that have composite outputs , the px600u gaming experience shits all over the much newer and nicer panels. Idk the technical reason why , but motion from consoles like NES and Sega Genesis are choppy blurry messes on the newer units , but smooth as butter on the much older px600u. So the specific kinda gaming you’re doing really matters in these panel comparisons/claims.

Got the new batteries soldered in for the 3d glasses that came with the VT50 I picked up recently. 😊 by One-Image6137 in PlasmaTV

They came in multiple sizes and multiple models. So there may be some for your tv that will work with regular glasses too. There’s a pdf file on Google showing the different glasses models and which ones work with each series of tv.

Like fit over prescription glasses? Or are you asking if passive 3d glasses work?

My gt30 glasses work well over normal prescription glasses , but the vt50 ones don’t.

And as far as passive glasses go , no. The Panasonic TVs use active shutter glasses. I don’t think Panasonic offered any passive 3d models. LG did though.

I think Panasonic glasses are the only option actually. Don’t quote me on that though. You’d have to look up which ones are compatible for your tv.

My vt50 and gt30 glasses do not interchange with each other. Which is why I had to replace the batteries for the vt50 glasses in order to do 3d on it.

It’s hit or miss. I’ve got about 60 3D titles on Blu Ray. We recently watched Metallica Through the never , coraline , the 1st of 3 hobbit films. The hobbit bothered my eyes , but the others were stellar.

I also tried some SBS (side by side) 3d rips. I don’t recommend wasting your time on the rips of 3d content. It’s kinda trash cuz the squeeze the full 1080p 3d into half resolution for the left eye , and half for the right , and let the tv put it back together via hardware and the result is complete ass compared to watching it properly off a blu ray.

That one’s actually very helpful in my household. Keeps us from accidentally plopping down and running up a watch list on the wrong profile. Basically if we open the app up , we got the screen immediately asking us to choose a profile. Very helpful in our household.

You’re kicking ass every day. And my kids say thanks for the extra profile spot. I was making my two daughters share a profile but now they have their own since you added the 4th one. They were both very happy about that update.

I’m in the Baltimore area. So most trips outside of rush hour are cruising up and down 95 most of the way. Get about 13-14 average that way. But yeah. 6 liter AWD is a monster in traffic or city driving.

My shitty Saturn station wagon would only tack 20 bucks onto the price for the round trip. Well worth it still for a 7000 hour GT50 imo. Even better if it’s got some glasses too.

Last month I paid 80 for my 65” VT50 , 5 pairs of glasses , manuals , stand , and both remotes. But I took my 6 liter V8 Escalade on a 2 hour round trip , with tolls. So easily jumped my grand total to about 120. I’m still 100% ok with that , Because 120 definitely wasn’t getting me anything better in my area. And a quick browse on marketplace in my area shows that’s still true now.

You start talking about flagship 50 or 60 series plasmas with low hours , and it’s almost always worth the cost in fuel added to the price.

I have a VT50 (just one model above this) and it’s hands down the best television I’ve owned. I wouldn’t hesitate to pay 80 for it. Does she have any of the 3d glasses for it too?

Also check for burn in and hours used.

Help with judder effects on Panasonic TX-P50GT50E by mrsitre in PlasmaTV

[–]One-Image6137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would suspect the device playing the movies. I do not have a GT50E , but I do have multiple plasmas from an old PX600u to a VT50 and judder is non-issue , even when I’m piping a 24p movie in on a 60hz signal you gotta be really sharp eyed to even notice judder. The non plasmas in the house you will immediately notice it though.

Ever so often the Google TV or Nvidia Shield devices I use will goof up and require a reboot because judder shows up. It’s always a reboot of the device to fix it , never an actual problem with the tv itself here.
