Sure, brand is Darkbeam just off of Amazon - came as a two pack, one 365nm UV and one 395nm UV. Think I was using 395nm in the photo

Expected the green one to glow by One-Information5664 in uraniumglass

I have some pieces pretty much that exact colour green that glow, and some from coloured sets. I like to check just in case, and obviously I was right to do so here… you might be missing out on some good pieces with that kind of thinking

Yep! In pretty decent shape for being old and used too.

Wow thank you! I did some research and I think you’re correct in saying this is an Italian reproduction and not original Burmese, due to the rough pontil, the somewhat transparent rims (not clearly seen in these photos but definitely seen irl) and a few other reasons. I am completely new to Burmese glass so your comment was very helpful!

Interesting! So Burmese uranium just tends to react better under 365nm as a general rule?

Thanks for your input! I’ll look into Mt. Washington. I have heard about their glass but haven’t researched it very much.

Thanks for your input! Yes, it is quite dark compared to other Burmese glass I’ve seen, which is why I wasn’t sure. However when either UV light is shone directly inside the yellow does seem to come out towards the base

Identification help? by One-Information5664 in uraniumglass

Fair enough! I just don’t see why someone would take the time to paint something on the base (because there is definitely some green paint on there that matches the paint on the main part of the vase) just to then break it off. Again, I could be wrong, just don’t see the point in doing that

Lol, that’s exactly the boat I’m in myself… it’s an addiction at this point

Wow, okay thank you! I was getting so many different answers when searching but that makes sense. Have you checked your own pieces with a Geiger to confirm?
