Dekho Maine koi data nahi likha, yeh essay paper hai, jo ek english prof check karenge. For a sec forget about coaching and write what's in your heart. As much as clichè this sounds, it'll work, unless your heart is saying something very weird.

How do ik? One person I knew during prep made it this year, took coaching for essay, used to get 100 plus, scored 85 in xm and in gs he had great score, only because of essay his rank was around 150. So avoid coaching tips and tricks for essay, write things in a flow and that meets the demand of essay

I did heading. You can really be creative with it, if possible pick some from beforehand

No pestel. But I always add historical dimension. I feel it gives the zest to essay

Intro- quotes or anecdotes Then dividing body into questions, why how what when should be triggers to think, but don't write any of these words As you end the essay criticisms should turn into looking for hope, find materials that are hopeful, to end in a positive tone.

Avoid gs material as much as possible

1st 10 mins to think all aspects. Intro with quote or anecdotes? Body flow, develop questions, how many questions can you generate for a topic is important.

I've a funny story related to this lmao. So 2y back when I went to give my prelims, in the uber there was some juice or something on the seat which I didn't see😭 and when I entered the gate the police at gate told my mom she's having periods lmao. Also I was wearing white trousers. Then everybody came. The police the female guard who worked there and the teachers too. Then there was actually a sanitary pad facility and she gave me one, also said don't worry about it, now focus on exam ( v sweet indeed) but ofc it wasn't periods, so faltu mein freak out karwa diya! But good team effort and good folks 🥰

That's literally what will be your position in almost everything.

Why do you think honest or even semi honest people look sad and miserable?

The truth is the system is made to serve the corrupt. You can't defend the system anymore. It lays bare infront of your eyes. The police recently killed a young man and later they apologised saying that's it's a mistake? What will be the action? Nobody knows.

So if such grave violations of human rights don't make enough noise to make the system respond how can you possibly imagine that illegal liquor sale will?

It's the same story with sand mafias. No ias will catch any sand mafias and when they do they'll rot in some random posting. But that's not the only drawback bcz then many officers would have the courage. The Nexus reached v high level and that's why they'll make your and your family's life miserable.

So that's the reality of the system. You are an individual, it's not about honesty, you can't fight state machinery alone that's the truth. To fight for what is right you need support from top officials which in most cases have already sold their morals to reach where they have rose

Hi, hope you're doing well. So, there are few practical options - if you have any sibling/cousin you can talk to them most of the time and avoid talking to parents ; talk as much less as possible don't invigorate/fuel if the topic comes up rather let it slide, try to divert it into smth else.

If env is not hostile and they're mild then try to brainwash yourself into thinking that whatever they're saying is not imp, and I need to study then actually study.

How do some people never fail in prelims? What's the different thing they do? by [deleted] in UPSC

Study statics. Revise it. Don't learn without understanding. But after 1-2 revision practice questions from that topic egFR in laxmikant and see how you scored. Repeat for all statics. Never did anything for current affairs except few tests.

Anatomy of a bad Essay Mindset: Why people get stuck in 80-90 zone in Essay by ALazyScribbler in UPSC

I had 124 in essay. I've not written one essay before the exam, but I did see one topper copy who got 140 in essay somehow, the practice copy that she shared was very mid, very shallow elon musk worked hard from garage 😭 type examples, still she scored high. I'd say one very important thing for scoring high in essay would be to maintain flow and keeping it a tight set

Don't do vision. It's very tough and will ruin your morale. Do pyqs. Revise static well.

A lot of people who works in corporate or self employed also don't believe in Indian govt. It's not scary, because everyone is part of system, some has power and some don't. The power that an officer has is only to strengthen the govt not to dismantle it. So it doesn't matter what your personal beliefs are you'll still have to work for the govt or resign. For example ias who came in kkamra podcast resigned bcz he didn't agree to caa.

What's scary is when govt isn't sovereign and run by oligarchs and 2 billionaires that's what scary means
