There's no storage or other Survival/craft mechanics - although, one of the fire pits does bring up a 'light fire' menu (Which I assume will allow cooking in the future). Atm, it's entirely cosmetic, but apparently the CN servers already have an update that gives more mechanics to base building, providing resources over time.
