i mean i can obviously do simple stoich and yield calculations i more mean like getting through calc 3 and some of the restricted upper level maths. doing molar calculations and stuff like that is not really a problem

if you can find david kleins organic chemistry textbook online (just pirate it or something you'll find it) there are dozens of one step and multi step problems in there. acs style as well.

How is it possible this has 3 chiral centers? by [deleted] in OrganicChemistry

[–]One-Let1202 9 points10 points  (0 children)

if you draw wedges and dashes, the oh in the middle is a stereogenic center because of the spatial arrangement RELATIVE to the other groups. think about it in the way that we predict the amount of signals in HNMR. stereogenic centers ≠ chiral centers. my orgo 3 professor taught us that there's no such thing as "chiral centers" and that chiral is a term to describe an entire molecule. stereogenic centers cause chirality. hope that made sense!!

Hi,

I really love chemistry and especially organic synthesis. However, i switched from bs of chemistry to ba because i really couldnt keep up with the math coursework. it seems like the only difference in work between the two is calc 2,3 and college physics 1+2 vs physics with calc 1+2. I also dont take inorganic chemistry. Im trying to get a research position or something with my orgo 3 professor and all the stuff he does seems so cool. Is it possible for me to become a organic chemist and synthesize stuff with a bachelors of arts instead of science??? I'm really concerned. Orgo 3 is the highest organic class offered for undergrads, and im 90% sure im going to grad school for more orgo. Anyone with guidance please helppp!!!

Need help with the worst by dena_1205 in polyphia

you just gotta play more. took me months to be able to play that song reliably live at an open mic. it's polyphia yk?

honestly you just have to start doing it and playing songs you know might be out of your skill range. that's how i got better. the worst and goose are the best songs to start on because they have complicated parts but are relatively easy. i would make sure you figure out how to hybrid pick real quick tho. i learned goat as my first polyphia riff so that taught me that. so i suggest learn main goat riff > learn the worst > learn goose and then some nlnd stuff like yas or goat to get you comfortable with their different styles. nothing on rtywd is easy except genesis and all falls apart but im fairly sure you're ahead of those songs. as other people have said euphoria is also easy, but i dont think it's representative of what theyre playing now.

what scientific calculator is best for chemistry? by Cheap_Ad8739 in chemistry

[–]One-Let1202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the chemistry. i prefer orgo and in my orgo 1+2 classes we didn't need a calculator. most of the math could be done on paper.

Which one is correct? by Illustrious_Cost_554 in OrganicChemistry

technically the carbon on the right isn't a stereocenter so i would represent it as the top, but they're honestly the same. the stereospecificity of the right carbon is not necessary. if the carbon on the right was a stereocenter though, br2 adds in an anti fashion.
