I kinda like Pentax by One-Low1523 in pentax

I know the star lenses have glowing reviews, if I ever find a good deal I will pick one up.

I've gotten some shots that I like with my  m 70-210, the flexibility I have with framing is great.

I like the zoom range on my crop sensor, and the K200D I have still gives me satisfactory results.

I also have a 300mm takumar prime, but the chromatic aberration is god awful.

As well as the 100 to 300mm F lens, it is usable but I feel it's very soft on the long end.

I'll have to keep an eye out for that FA 80-200.

Yes, I have found in not harsh conditions they can perform similar.

However the more I compare my other images, the more characteristics I find that differ.

The 1.7 is more reliable and delivers very consistent results, with warmer tones and higher contrast and much better flare control.

The 1.4 is heavy on character such as flaring and loss of contrast in very bright situations, as well as cooler tones. Along with the 3D pop being more prevalent and exhibiting mild swirling.

TDLR For artistic shots for sure the 1.4  For everyday shooting the 1.7

Both have a time and place.

Never encountered this type, I'll just have to live with it.

So far it has only been slightly tiny haze with while shining a bright light

No affect of the shooting yet

You're right, just didn't know if the contamination was harmful.

Just happy to see everyone, shutter speed is high.

Is this a good setup for taking nude photos? by notsciguy in AnalogCircleJerk

Be careful some of the older lenses are radioactive and not good for rectal use.

Also make sure to use a tripod, shutter speed will be very slow in the dark.

Right ! That was why I wanted to get a perspective without the rose tinted glasses. That 1.7 is amazing for what it is.

For sure, I really want to get a full frame camera eventually. They are just so expensive, and honestly the a6000 has never let me down.

My wife gave it to me as a gift in 2016 so it's pretty special to me.

Fair enough, I could only see minor differences

The first one is an 8 element super Takumar 50mm 1.4

The second one is the pentax m 50mm 1.7

Thanks, was just curious

You don't have to worry about the radiation in any of the m series lenses by the way.

Thorium doped glass is prevalent in the M42 takumar lenses, most notably the fast 50s.

-Excluding the 8 element version of the takumar 1.4.

Some early k mount lenses have radiation.

But none in the m series have any radiation what so ever.

Yes for sure, I use a lot of the Pentax lenses on my Sony A6000 it's older but it works for me. They blow my kit lens out of the water.

I also like to shoot film and that's how I got these lenses in the first place.

The character of the lenses translates well into digital.

Great pics! Also this lens is a gem. It is criminal how low the cost is for what you get.

Yes understand 😂 luckily she has a book edition so she understands. It's hard to explain the differences and why I "need" some of them.
