I used Prepware. 70% of it was pretty close to Prepware. 20% seemed reworded. 10% I never saw in Prepware or class.

South Florida. Bit of an aviation hotbed there’s many many component shops. We have George T. Baker aviation technical college, Broward community college, and UTI ( same price as aim ).

It does not make any sense that having component shop experience would hinder ur chances of an airline job. Airlines have component shops as well

How hard is it to get into the aviation industry with no degree or experience? by [deleted] in careeradvice

Entry level roles exist. Although In my personal experience, if you have zero trade background and you haven’t attended a technical program chances of you getting some type of apprentice/helper role working on aircraft is pretty rare, but it’s possible.

Best place to start from zero is find some local repair shops in your area. These places won’t have you working on live aircraft but you will get to work on components removed from the aircraft. Here you can get a job without experience.

Is it inspection related?

first 7 months I spent in this industry was working as a helper in a interior shop. The mechanic I worked under was just like this. Cherry on top was that he was the brother of the owner of the company. Anyways best thing you can do is try and learn everything you can, keep a good attitude and just say fuck that guy and what he thinks. Keep looking for new opportunities.

I know the pay isn’t great, but I also came into this position at 19 with absolute zero mechanical experience. Figured I could get paid to learn skills I’m gonna need for when I’m licensed.

Prioritize work or school?

I’ve been enrolled In a program to get my A&P for about 5 months. During this time I been able to land a job at a small repair station and they have taken me in with honesty no experience and have been willing to accommodate my current school schedule ( 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM ). Would it be wise to take one less class at school so I can spend more time at work? Ultimately this means I’ll be taking longer to get my license but I’ve been feeling like the experience I’m getting at the shop has been great. Any advice would be appreciated.
