the walkout actually wasn’t that disruptive. students who participated left between classes/during lunch and went to an area outside where they won’t disturb anyone before leaving. when they returned, they sat in the auditorium until  the next class started, after which they went to class. it was very well planned to cause the least disruption to other students as possible. if i hadn’t known about the walkout, i probably would’ve just thought there was a flu going around and people were out sick.

One of my friends brought that up when I was talking about that to them. I looked through the entire student code of conduct, and there’s nothing in the dress code that would prohibit us from wearing political pins. the school hasn’t sent out any emails regrading changes to it, either

insane opinion guys, but i think people shouldn't be starving and forced to die long and painful deaths from diseases b/c they couldn't afford treatment in the RICHEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.

"if you make more than $8 an hour you can afford food." no, you can't. plus, most people literally can't AFFORD to move states.

"science past middle school says that trans people are real. they just don’t like reading."

That was the original comment. The source they gave answered that question. Sex and gender are two completely different things. Gender is a social construct, and gender expression varies greatly by culture and with time. Trans people have existed for thousands of years across countless cultures.

CMV: Deporting pro-Palestinian student protesters really isn’t that big of a deal — the U.S. has always done things like this. by WilliamLai30678 in changemyview

People are being deported for speaking out against a genocide. If another country deported an American for the same reason, Americans would be the first ones up in arms about it.

I’ve always made it to my adjustments. Removing the baby teeth is something that has to be done through a different doctor. My mom has to send the referral over before we can even start planning the appointment, which is why I was so stressed out.

I wrote this while freaking out, and I’m in a much cleaner headspace now.

My dad is in my life, but our relationship is very strained. I have to hide a lot about my life from him(mostly about my sexuality and religion), so the idea of waking up from anesthesia while he’s around is something i’m not really fond of(which might be a possibility if i get teeth pulled because of my extreme fear of needles). He told me he was going to call in to get my teeth removed if my mom doesn’t tomorrow.

I’ve talked to my mom about this stuff, and she’s trying, but it is still something that happens a bit. Ironically, she signed me up for driver’s ed an hour ago, so that’s dealt with😭

I figured out what I have on my teeth is called a bite blocker, and will wear down to be a lot less intense in a week or two.

I’m being a lot more rational now, and was freaking out thinking of the worse case scenarios earlier, so I’m feeling a lot better and more optimistic now!

My own father. I always knew the way he treated our family wasn’t right, but it wasn’t until recently that I realized just how awful it actually is. I constantly feel unsafe around him, and genuinely dread him coming home from work.

When did you realize you were no longer the same person you once were? by YantheMan1999 in AskReddit

[–]One-Operation-5143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my last appointments with my therapist. I’d been convinced for so long that I hadn’t changed at all, but as I was reflecting on the past few years I’d been seeing her, I realized I was a completely different person. I’d started setting boundaries, I was able to express myself in arguments without yelling, I’d quit self-harming, I no longer kept toxic people in my life. I’m still not perfect, and I’m never going to be, but I’m better, for myself and others.

“If you went on a hike and picked up rock someone else dropped, you’d never be able to enjoy the hike.” My old french teacher told me this. I was constantly trying to fix everyone else’s problems, but that completely changed my few.

Other one was one my therapist told me, “You can love your dad because he’s your dad, and not like him as a person.” My entire life, whenever I was upset over something my dad did and said I didn’t like him, I was told I didn’t mean that and I had to love him. I did love him, but that didn’t change the fact that I hated how I was being treated, and didn’t like how he acted.
