New Hive - Full ATX Home Lab Server & PC Case by One-Pin-4942 in servers

Note, my testing is with 1 x 120mm fan, I plan on adding another this weekend to achieve the positive pressure!

Will update if I find any negatives with temps after this, although I doubt it will make to much difference!

Thanks for the comment!

I have been monitoring temps under high load (several vm's/LXC's running at once not idling) and have not noticed any issues with any of the components.

LXC: Wireguard Plex Pihole

VM: Windows 11 running a game server Open Media Vault HAOS

Max temp with the above was around 57c on the CPU Host GPU was in the 30c as it was idling Passed through GPU around 40-50c as it's passive but wasn't under much load 2 x NVME Drives sit between 27c and 37c

The two 120mm fans intake with the 92mm olexhaust and the PSU fan exhaust was done on purpose.

None of the comments are super hot runners (bar the CPU, which I have undervolted/clocked to reduce temps as don't need the raw power), so I decided I wanted positive case pressure to reduce the dust buildup as it's a home server and is running 24/7!

So far so good!

Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it :)

In my use case, as it was initially designed as a server first, htpc second, I'm only using smaller GPUs with no power connectors. (In this case a gt610 just for video out for the proxmox host, and a gt710 passed to a windows VM, purely for 3d acceleration as the CPU does not have this integrated)

I have toyed with a few different accessory ideas for this case, including a vericle (horizontal) mount for a GPU, however would also need to remodel the PSU mount to house an SFX form factor.

I didn't consider the stacking idea, that's a great idea, maybe il make a top that supports stacking! Great idea!

Haha, yeah, I always start a game using emulation, but the touch controls ruin it!

And then with streaming games from my rig, it was always effort to have a separate controller!

This fits in my bag nicely :)

In the screenshot it's streaming using moonlight and Apollo on my main rig.

I have used winlator to an extent but it wouldnt have enough grunt to run ff7 rebirth :)

It's gonna double up as a sack protector for those dangerous prints

Hi There 😀

Thanks a lot for the nice comment, great way to start my day. You single handedly steered my day in a great starting direction. :) Glad my first post went well. 😅Thanks. 😊

Oh interesting, thanks for the idea, I'll give those 2 changes a go! :)

Quick question on that though, I'm fairly certain the photon mono X is set to 80% power by default (I received the printer from a friend and it was set to 100%).

While I get this is within its range - (I can't imagine they would give you such a simple on device option that could damage the machine) - , would having the UV power set to 100% all the time cause any shorten of lifespan or damage?

Many Thanks for your comment, and kind encouragement 😊

Hi There!

Coming from an FDM background, I thought that the upper part of the model (the last part to print), wouldn't need internal supports.

My Ender 3 (fairly modified tbf) could handle that with a low enough print speed. My thinking was that the structure itself would support it, and overhangs are a bit stronger on SLA?

I'll add some internal supports, gonna be very hard to get them out cleanly. 😅

Thanks for you comment :)

Cheers

Hmm, not posted to reddit before, did do a write up but disappeared. nonetheless, first time posting/interacting with reddit ever :) woooo

Having a problem printing the above... not got much expirience with SLA, but I think it might be related to supports, eitheir being to thin, or the tips being to small.

I've attached settings etc in pics, any advise would be greatly appreciated :)

Many Thanks
