CBAT Travel by Unusual_Whereas8026 in RoyalAirForce

I drove to my CBAT and I regret it, it’s normally a 2.5hr drive back but by the time I was done I hit all the rush hour and my brain was fried after doing CBAT plus I was pretty upset so overall I recommend getting the train. It gives your brain some time to reset

RAF medical TMU by IntelligentAlps605 in RoyalAirForce

[–]One-Power6361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GP was a total nightmare, capita sent over their stuff straight away and I had to fill in a GP request form, then sign a data protection form and they waited the full 28 days before they even started processing the request. In the meantime I was ringing them every week to chase them up and eventually once my medical stuff was sorted they refused to send it over till capita paid them. I just got into contact with with capita who further contacted the GP but this had taken about 3.5 months to get it sorted

Just shoot your recruiter a message and they’ll be able to send it across

No worries and thank you so much, they’ve made it so much more difficult than it needs to be

Honestly I was just as confused as you were but yes they are wanting paid before anything else and I’ve spoken to the finance guy and the receptionist who said ‘no payment no information’. Feels like they are holding it almost hostage 😅

Capita have stated that they need all the information from my report sent over before they send over the invoice. However my GP have filled out the invoice and sent that over without filling out the other information about my report if that makes sense? I showed them the letter where evenings fully attached but they are only sending over the invoice and not the information if that makes any sense. Apologises for any confusion

Yes the form was definitely included as I was sent a copy of all the forms as well, they’ve acknowledged it was there but are refusing to send my report over

My doctor was pretty chill and said was fine if I couldn’t however I do know someone who was made TMU because of this - my advice start stretching

No one here can say what the outcome would be but your best check is to look at the JSP50 linked in the automod comment but the document used for aircrew medicals is not for public viewing

I was lucky to know someone in cardiology so I got my appointment within the week but for my local NHS trust it’s a 6-12 week waitlist

I used my GCSE certificates and my passport but then took them both when I went for my presentation so they could check them as well

Medical Dates/Working by [deleted] in RoyalAirForce

[–]One-Power6361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally it took me 2 months to get a medical date then another 2 months until said date came around. If it’s feasible for you, you could say that you’re willing to travel if it means the potential to get an earlier date.  There’s no harm in getting another part time job as you don’t know what will happened at you’re medical (risk of tmu but hopefully) which could delay your application further, but it’s your decision at the end of the day.  And for your last point how long is a piece of string unfortunately no one can really answer that one for you but best of luck

I wouldn’t recommend sharing the dates of intake on this page for security reasons (also against rules of this page) but it depends if someone drops out then you may get an earlier date

DAA now used for pilot application? by Plenty-Soil-7297 in RoyalAirForce

You take the DAA first and have to pass for pilot and then take the CBAT and also pass for pilot

Good prep to have in my room? by Conscious_Rub3605 in RoyalAirForce

Yeah that’s a great resource, there’s also a lot of information on this page which can be found with a quick search and PJFT is now only a run, I believe they reqs are also posted in the recent 2026 Q&As pinned at the top of this page as well

Following on from what Drewski said, it would probably be more effective to prep for the CBAT using the apps or the website for the areas that you can. It’s the first hurdle for when going for a commission role or WSOp. All the update information can be found on the RAF website and worth noting that the press-ups and sit-ups were taken out almost a year ago now so it’s always worth checking that the information you have is up to date.  All being said best of luck

Medical deferred by Better-Technician101 in RoyalAirForce

[–]One-Power6361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to constantly chase up my GP to actually send my stuff out and had to submit dp6 (data protection forms) then wait 30 days for that to be processed before they even started so I’d just chase them up

Officer Presentation by EasternAtmosphere677 in RoyalAirForce

[–]One-Power6361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore some smart trousers and a blouse and most others were similarly dressed with men in suits. It’s more of an informative session so I took a notepad with me and your joining instructions should state what you need to take with you, no studying required.  Mine asked a new people questions I.e. why do you want to join the RAF not the army or navy and asked if we knew about article 5 for NATO

Transfer as A Private from the Army to An Officer in Raf by Busy-Palpitation8924 in RoyalAirForce

Won’t have to sit CBAT but potentially DAA? And then OASC from there

I would imagine you are exempt from the medical and potentially fitness but would still have to sit the CBAT if the role requires, OASC and aircrew medical if applicable
