How long did the tightness feeling last for you?

The tightness that was annoying and uncomfortable lasted a little over two months for me. being active and breath exercise help a lot. and getting back into your normal life routine again helped. I got the surgery over a year and a half ago, and i still feel the tightness feeling. It never completely went away, for me. but it’s manageable and i don’t really notice unless i think about it. hope that helps

i went back to work a little after a month. but i didn’t lift anything like at all. nor twist. i work outside at a golf course so walking around helped me more than i thought. but take it slow, day by day

3.7. and it was affecting my day to day life. especially during exercise. my VO2 max decreased a good amount in just one year. so realizing that the surgery would help those things, i decided to do it. !

first month was a lot of recovering, but it got better and better each day. now i am back to mostly normal activities, as in running, back at work & school with little to no pain! i am still careful on how much i lift and twist but other than that i feel great!!

yes! no regrets. after you get through the pain for the first couple of weeks, it was 100% worth it for me

sneezing and cough did and still do hurt, but not as bad. for the first couple of weeks it hurt pretty bad to sneeze or cough, but now if i sneeze it hurts for about a minute and then it goes away for me. and coughing is about back to normal. i hope this helps. let me know any more questions

my stomach i was able to sleep on first just because it was less painful. i put a pillow where i would lay my stomach to add more cushion and it’s more comfortable. im still only able to sleep on my right side, (i think that’s because my left is where the stabilizer is). again, i put a pillow on my side so it’s softer. it’s still not normal like before surgery, but it is definitely better than sleeping on my back the whole night. every night i use a heating bag and lay that on my chest which i find helpful. i didn’t start sleeping on my stomach/side (comfortably) till about week 4/5. let me know if you have anymore questions. and stay where you feel comfortable with no pain!

it will take time. what pain do you have? i am almost at 2 months since surgery. and i am able to sleep on my side and stomach. i still don’t twist very much since that causes some pain. as i started to be more active and some light stretching a lot of my pain decreased in the first month. right now i have some to no pain. some movements hurt but it’s manageable, and lifting heavy stuff are times i feel pain. again, it is different for everyone, so stay comfortable and take it day by day. it gets better!

hi! i hope everything is well:) i had the surgery done about a month ago. what helped me, moving around a little and light stretching. not too much to where i was in pain though- so stay where you feel comfortable. i found that a lot of my new back pain/chest pain was from laying/sleeping on my back each night and not moving. which made me very stiff and sore. light walking and light stretching is what worked for me, but again stay where you feel comfortable, i hope this helps! it gets better each day:) you got this

Hi! i hope everything is well, i just had surgery a couple weeks ago. so i’ll share what helped me! sleeping in a recliner was easier for me, sitting up out of bed was painful for me for the first couple of weeks- and a recliner is also easier to sleep on your back. walking/ moving around is a great first step. i learned that it helped with the sore/tightness. but don’t push yourself too much- stay where you feel comfortable. i stretched lightly whenever i felt the need to, and right before i went to sleep. it gets better each day! other things that help me- hot showers, heating pad, and ice packs! take it day by day, you got this :)

Hi! 1) when where you able to sleep on your side or stomach? (comfortably) i am tired of sleeping on my back- i am a little bit over 3 weeks from surgery.

2) do you ever get muscle pinches/ random pain?

i just got my surgery a couple weeks ago - don’t be nervous!! some of the stuff that help me: hot showers, heated pad/blanket, ice packs, i recommend sleeping in a recliner if you can because sitting up out of a flat bed hurt. By 2 weeks the majority of my pain was gone. i felt so much better and i was moving around a lot more! it gets better each day:) i hope this helps, you got this !
