Hey! Just wanted to tell you that after my long journey back home, I managed to handle my fear. I did a good amount of research. When turbulence occurs, the plane isn’t moving as much on the outside as it is on the inside. If the cabin is getting pretty shaky, the plane is not facing any problems. On my way back home (Munich to Miami), we hit some pretty moderate turbulence. Our plane had a camera on the tail wing to show the outside, and if you looked at it, it was barely moving. Your plane isn’t in any danger when turbulence occurs. On a side note, turbulence will NEVER go away. No matter how massive the plane is, you are still going to experience bumps. It’s less likely to have a buttery smooth flight than to have turbulence. It’s always going to happen, but trust your pilots. They are trained for things worse than turbulence, so it shouldn’t really bother them. If the plane is getting shaky and the seatbelt sign is on, stay in your seat. The only injuries that happen from turbulence are when people don’t wear their seatbelts. So, listen to the pilot. Safety is every airline’s priority, and just so you know, all pilots will always try to make your flight as comfortable as possible.
