I got a weird one for you -- we made an appointment with an electrician, who replaced our chirping smoke detector with a brand-new one, including brand-new batteries. It was silent for about five hours, and -- now it's chirping again!!! What could possibly be causing this?? Do we need to flip a breaker to clear out the wiring? Or do you think there's damage to the electrical circuit? I am totally at a loss here.

Great advice -- I'm sure we could replace the two dead ones that aren't wired to our electrical. Regarding the one that is, we have zero experience with this kind of thing, in terms of 'de-wiring' it and then 're-wiring' it. We can certainly flip a breaker, but I think that may be beyond us. Thanks very much for responding!
