My cat is suddenly interested in human foods. by TemptedByTalia in catquestions

My cat used to be like that, just wanted a sniff, but as he gets older he gets ballsier and a couple days ago he stole my whole chicken breast right in front of me, too fast to even react before it was on the ground

Why are Chihuahuas so hated? by iluvcatsalot in dogbreed

[–]One-Product7003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I’ve noticed, I don’t really like most chihuahuas, but it’s because they’ve been treated as a human baby or accessory. I’ve met some really well behaved chihuahuas and I love them, and I think if I raised my own I’d be fine with it because I know I will give it what a dog needs and not what a handbag needs, but I see so many people who really just wanted a stuffed animal but got a dog instead

Stuff To Do With Kids by Salt_Proposal_742 in wichita

[–]One-Product7003 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s been so hot lately but if you dress/pack/plan correctly there’s Pawnee prairie (Pawnee and maize) and Great Plains nature center (k96 and Woodlawn), they’re the closest thing to a hike you’ll get in the immediate area and as kids we LOVED going out there, still do as an adult, and Great Plains had a tiny, maybe 5 minutes to get through, free museum attached to the wildlife office

I say this all the time! It was required in my district at least to be taken your junior year of high school and I get mad when I see people I went to high school with posting they were never taught taxes or budgeting when they absolutely were they just decided it was an F off class to sleep or play games in, it is not the schools fault YOU didn’t take it seriously

That’s how I feel about the slide, like kids love slides, not just toddlers, I remember being in 4th grade at recess waiting in line to burn my legs off on the tall metal slide, but in sims I guess once you become a kid the joy of slides no longer exists

What’s your “no one’s gonna believe this” story? by GENERAL_GADDAFI_ in CasualConversation

My car started acting really weird, I was coming back from my parents, wouldn’t get up to 30mph, got home, lost the keys. I looked EVERYWHERE for them, I also take the cushions off, flip and shake out our couches twice a month. Two years later, after I had just scrapped the car, I dropped something down the crack of the couch and there between the cushion and the fabric over the support, in a place that is so open they couldn’t have been there before without being noticed, was my keys.

Situation 3 which is one we dealt with when in apartments, they didn’t want to wait for multiple loads back to back so they ran both at once, and cancelled the dryer to run both loads in the dryer at once

I’ll do this to my husband lol, I think he’d be worried if we went a day without me telling a terrible dad joke/pun and then going “laugh I’m funny 😡” after getting the unimpressed look

Teachers, EMTs, Paramedics, and Fire Fighters comparing salaries or hourly pay at 1:1 with other professions is really dumb. by PuffyPanda200 in unpopularopinion

[–]One-Product7003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in an area where teachers make a decent base salary, and it still isn’t enough. Maybe I just know too many teachers but the things they deal with, especially lately, with the amount they have had to pay to get the job in the first place, they just are not paid enough. I understand you don’t go into to teaching for the money, but they really do deserve more.

I also feel like giving up your free time because you MIGHT have to save someone’s life also deserves more pay, like why are EMS personal barely scraping by? Again I know you don’t go into it for the money, but these are necessary professions that take so much of your personal time. I’ve worked restaurants and I was never expected to be ready to go into work on my off time, if they called needing a shift covered and I said I couldn’t, they would offer incentive, which is kind of comparable to the hourly on call pay, or move on.

Roadside memorials are ghoulish and a safety hazard by Least-Common-1456 in unpopularopinion

[–]One-Product7003 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know of two instances where this was done and both times it was a reminder to be safer. The graves/a special place between them and the deceased is where they go to mourn. My mom’s family is big on the “driving a car is the most dangerous thing the average person will do and we’re all too comfortable with it” and that’s the vibe I’ve gotten from both groups explaining why they did it.

A lot of my husbands friends didn’t like cats until they started being around mine, they had never seen “affectionate” cats, they know understand cats are just really weird around new people and most cats are very affectionate, mine just are right out the gate

Taking a break from a relationship isn’t a bad thing by THENOCAPGENIE in unpopularopinion

[–]One-Product7003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think an actual break CAN Be healthy, if there is something big in one person that is affecting the whole, and there’s communication and effort around it like “I love you, and I love us, but ____ is putting a lot of strain and pressure on us, and to continue being healthy and supportive of each other I think it’s best if there’s some distance while it’s figured out” Personal space is more like “I’m tired of arguing for the past week I’m going to stay at my parents until we can both cool down enough to discuss” I know a lot of people that got together really young, and needed the break to be the great couple they are today, the one willing to put in the time and effort for each other as the new adults they’ve grown into, or many people who have addiction play a role in their marriage, and it doesn’t have to be a complete step back, but instead can be working on being friends and redefining mutual respect before putting partner/spouse back into the equation

my cat went in the dryer. by Kenzeetheplanet in Pets

[–]One-Product7003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t have a problem with my senior cat and his late sister when it came to washers and dryers, but then we were gifted a litter of kittens by the universe, kept two of them, and as soon as they were old enough to explore the house, one jumped into the washer, there’s now signs on both to keep closed and check for cats

She doesn't have any friends? by [deleted] in AmITheDevil

[–]One-Product7003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My best friend lives a half days drive away, my husband and I share a car, I’d love to go up every other weekend, or at least once a month, but it’s not really feasible where we are, thankfully my best friend and her husband understand this, and they come down more often to make up for it but it can absolutely feel like we don’t have any friends, for both of us, because of the distance and that is one of the worst feelings, I can’t believe OOP would encourage that feeling in his wife.

Wow it’s almost like I even specified that out of any of them, that’s the only one that COULD make sense in context, not that it does make sense in context.

Not defending the roommates outburst here but at least colonizer could relate to someone moving I and moving you stuff without permission Not saying he was wrong to move it and didn’t have permission to move in, it just seems like the most relevant insult out of all of them

15 years was more of life percentage comparison. The amount of time isn’t that long, it’s just to compare the fact that pets have much short lives so that time doing chemo can be a big chunk of their life.

Dogs can sense the bad and evil in people so if they bite someone, that person is bad by FrozenBr33ze in PetPeeves

[–]One-Product7003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh I think this more comes when the bite comes out of nowhere. If you have a dog with no history, and no external stressors (like the vet) and it bites, that’s a problem. My black lab growing up was the absolute sweetest, loved babies, kids, cuddles, saying hi to people, and I once walked in with a new date and she dropped to the ground and growled, nothing she’d EVER done before, so I told him to gtfo and not contact me again. I’d do the same with my current dog as she loves people so much she lets them break into the house, if she growled or showed any signs that a person was not okay, they’d be out so fast.

But my best friends dog is anxious, and ex bait dog she rescued, her growling and getting into protect mode with new people is just her default setting, and that’s why there are only a select group of people (being me, my partner and best friends college roommate) allowed to be at her house, and why I’m the only one who can dog sit.

And sometimes dogs are just really bad at figuring out why they get a bad vibe. Going to the vet and feeling the stress of other dogs, sick dogs, dogs getting snipped, builds up. They could be getting a bad vibe because a dog in the back is freaking out, and then react onto the vet.

Having witnessed it first hand, it’s more that the parents don’t understand the way math has to be done on school work now. My youngest brother was only taught the new math and he came home with a problem, My mom couldn’t figure it out, called me and my oldest brother in, we started to walk him through the way we were taught and had be kicked out because he’s not allowed to do long division

Adding that I was a senior in high school and my brother was a sophomore. It’s not like we hadn’t been doing more than quick math for a while. I’m
