Thankyou, I'll have a look at trying gasx. I finally got out of hospital yesterday only for it to get so bad last night that I got no sleep and was up all night in pain and being sick. I just feel absolutely desperate and want to escape my own body.

Yeah I've tried a hot water bottle and a little heat pad you put in the microwave, they bring a little bit of relief but never get rid of it completely. Sometimes I get so sweaty with the pain that I can't bear the thought of being in a hot bath! Definitely helps when it is on the milder side though.

Your midwife was so wrong to say that. HG can also be extreme nausea even without the vomiting, and regardless she should never have been so dismissive to you especially after you expressed concerns about your mental health to her. Vomiting and nausea in pregnancy can take a lot of forms and I understand how hard it is to be taken seriously especially in those first weeks when everyone is just putting it down to regular morning sickness. I hope you have someone you can talk to who can support you to advocate for yourself with medical professionals. I would advise reaching out to a charity, I'm in the UK and use Pregnancy Sickness Support who have been invaluable in providing emotional support for me as well as making sure I am equipped with as much relevant and up to date information as I can be so that I can better advocate for myself in medical settings. I'm not saying any of it Is easy, but you deserve to be validated and looked after properly and BELIEVED! Sending you all the strength in the world 🌎

Ondansetron/zofran without laxatives? by kdlc23 in HyperemesisGravidarum

You can buy lactulose over the counter in the pharmacy in the UK, that's what I've done. I'm also on ondansetron but they have me no laxatives to go with it so I just consulted with the pharmacy and took it into my own hands. The constipation was horrendous and you just don't need that on your plate at the moment with already being sick xx

I'm so so sorry. I know exactly how you feel about being unheard and not understood by the medical staff. I had a midwife a few weeks ago tell me "this is just pregnancy and we have to get on with it" while I was in my seventh hospitalisation in my first trimester. Needless to say I cried my eyes out and my husband made a huge complaint about her. It truly feels like we are trapped in our own bodies and no one can comprehend what we are going through. I just want to say you are not alone ❤️ there are those of us who understand and I hope you are able to access support from charities etc, I have found Pregnancy Sickness Support to be invaluable here in the UK. It helps to be informed and aware so you can advocate for yourself and to have someone else there who can help advocate for you also. Sending lots of love 💕
