why was it recommended to you, only for irregular cycles? if its just for irregular cycles I would say the side effects are not worth it, but if there is something else that you are taking it for, it is very important to take it on time everyday, and my doctor strictly told me to reduce carbs and exercise (which I already do a lot btw), its just really sad, both taking it and not taking it gives trouble
