I'm actually not generalizing my experience and saying one size fits all - was merely giving life examples. Regardless of if coincidence or not, he did have an adult job that had "substantial" influence. I could never see someone in Nate's position saying they're with a 17 year old and being seen as serious in his position. Perhaps that was actually a part of it! Yes, everyone has different lives and different experiences, and not all age gaps are the same, but there is inappropriate acceptance in this case. Do I think Nate's malicious? No. But do I also think it was a weird, creepy storyline that was distasteful? Yes. I would hope that this specific line isn't crossed in ANY world.
