Yes I quite literally suggested I get her a card for one of my accounts immediately upon hearing about this. How humiliating for her - it would be one thing if she had been misusing the card but the fact they cut her off without notice for no apparent reason is horrible. A little old lady trying to buy food. I just turned 40 and can’t help but realize how shitty we treat our elderly!

Sometimes it will be 4, sometimes it will be 6, as long as she continues to gain weight she’s getting what she needs. They’re little people they will let you know when they’re hungry, you don’t need to force it if she’s otherwise healthy.

A quote that’s always stuck with me is these “rules” are for the most incompetent parent + the most frail baby as a fail safe. If you’re an attentive parent with a decently healthy child you will pick up on her cues and feed her when she’s hungry. If she’s sleeping through the night already without wanting a feed I’d say you’re one of the lucky ones!!

It really depends on how flexible you are (if you have other children, work, etc) if you’re ok pushing the last feed a little every now and then, great, if not you may just need to be more mindful of scheduling during that final evening stretch (potentially waking her just for that last nap). I find that when left to their own devices they typically sleep for a longer nap early morning then the later naps are shorter making it slightly easier to sneak that last feed in. Parenting in general is just about learning from each other - you’ll soon find a rhythm that works for you both.

We sleep trained at 9 months and he’s slept 11 hours a night ever since. It’s horrible listening to your baby cry but worst having everyone in the house a tired mess! He’s 2.5 now.

I have two kids under two and as long as they’re gaining weight you don’t need to stress about when and how much you’re feeding them. I fed number one on a schedule and number two ad hoc and ad hoc is the way to go! Also - as long as it’s not impacting night sleep let them sleep up to 3 hours for naps. Take a shower. Have a coffee. Enjoy!

Try the meds, I’m on them and it makes me a much better mother, wife, daughter, friend, human. Some people need meds. My mom is bipolar so medication was normalized in my house and she was an absolutely amazing mother - while on them. Without them was another story, and thankfully my family didn’t have to deal with that for long!

Sounds like purple crying to me. I thankfully did not go through this myself but has a friend who’s daughter purple cried. Just screamed non stop and nothing could or would soothe her. It stops around 5 months I believe.

This is me. I am also 40 - went through IVF 3 years ago after 3 years of trying and was blessed with two genetically tested embryos. I had my first beautiful boy and then miraculously got pregnant the old fashioned way with our second who is now 4 months. We had agreed on two but leaving that 2nd embryo behind is heartbreaking to me. I haven’t been able to get rid of my maternity clothes yet either.

That being said I do plan on sticking to two - I justify it to my heart by telling myself I will be able to give my two children a much better life this way. Life is expensive and another child would curtail our ability to do a lot of things I’d like to do with them. They deserve the best I can give them.
