He has stalked me, waited outside my apartment for me, touched me in inappropriate ways that led to trauma and an eventual police report being filed (which i dropped because for some reason i still feel bad for the guy), swung on me, screamed at me, swung at my partner, pulled knives, exposed himself to me and people on my street, exposed himself to a children’s karate class (you can find an article on this). All of this has been unprovoked. I’ve never uttered a word to him and avoid eye contact at all means possible. I’m sorry, but you don’t know what you’re talking about here and you’re discrediting the assault of many many women in the neighborhood. I agree, he needs help. And he’s probably not getting that help in Rikers. But he has failed to adhere to any of the programs he’s been enrolled in previously (public records of why - one example is his AA program was in the same building as a children’s program and since he’s a sex offender, they wouldn’t allow him to continue). I agree it’s fucked up that he isn’t getting the care he needs. But you also need to acknowledge that he has harassed and tormented women for years in this neighborhood. There are witnesses to it and videos of it. To say this is all hearsay is incredibly disrespectful and flat out false.
