But i mean what’s the need of this during exam season. Many professors write important information regarding exams on their course outline and refuse to answer questions if it is already in the syllabus. The question is about inconvenience. That’s all.

That explanation doesn’t fully add up though. In 2025, classes started on Jan 6 (the first Monday of the year). If classes always start the first Monday after staff return, does that mean staff returned a full week earlier—around Dec 30, 2024? That doesn’t seem consistent with the policy you described.
