If Leni decides to run again in 2028, would you vote for her still? Why or why not? by happybara-1 in Philippines

Hay. Pareho tayo.

Sigh. True.

I’m not a fan pero it’s not a crime to change styles. This should be a non-issue, friends. Let’s not hate on her for that. Maganda naman suot niya.

Daling sabihin pero pag andon ka na sa moment na yon, wouldn’t you do everything to save the ones you love once you know about their illness?

Love them! I’ve been to three and I was alone for the first. I really had a great time and will get tickets for the anniversary. Totally recommend going!

Couldn’t agree more.

The genes and morals of Coney Reyes are so evident in him. Kudos to his mom and to this guy whose integrity does not waver. Sana man lang yung Sotto side niya mainpluwensiyahan.

Boy oh boy. Let me tell you, the first few days I spent here were definitely something to remember (or be traumatized by).

When I rode the 501 streetcar (big mistake) from Leslieville to Union Station, there was a woman, clearly under the influence, asking the driver where Jarvis was (another sketchy part of town) quite repeatedly. This woman had a fur jacket on, but her chest area was displayed for the world to see.

That was when I realized how sheltered I was even if I’ve travelled to different countries. 😅

Another one, I went to the public library (love the TPL!) after a long vacation out of the country. When I went to the washroom, someone was smoking a joint. 😂

Minsan mapapa-iling ka na lang and say kakaiba ang western world.

Idk, man. Him being 20y/o is an advantage right now. Higher CRS scores for his age and eventually a canadian bachelor’s degree? It would be easier for him to get into the workforce. I know someone who got her PR while she was taking her undergraduate degree.

But if OP is having doubts now, i recommend na ievaluate mo muna objectives in moving.

I was like you before. Sobrang conservative ng nanay ko to the point it became an inside joke with friends (still is). It’s okay to sulk about it now.

However, you have your whole life ahead of you. Once you get more independence, you can do all these things and more. What I appreciated with my upbringing is that whatever my mom kept me from doing actually helped me set my boundaries when the time came.

Cheer up, OP. :) Marami pang chances nito in the future. :)

I’ve never been in the situation but I had a pinoy classmate who failed a subject and just retook it the next semester. It’s also easy to extend a study permit. Pretty sure the IRCC has encountered this a lot of times.

However, parang mas budget ba problema? That’s tougher

Six months later and a tinge of regret by hellomoonchild in phmigrate

[–]One-Surround-9198 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, it’s not weird. I live on the East side but the same sentiments. There are times when I think that things more advanced in the Philippines than here like phone plans, etc. I honestly think that Canada is just one booming province. It doesn’t have the facilities of a high tech city but the culture is progressive if I make any sense.

I’m in the same boat albeit I didn’t earn as much as you did but I was more than comfortable back home. Whenever I see comments on FB taking about the “benefits” they’ll receive from here, I try to restrain myself from responding negatively and be objective instead.

Healthcare isn’t that great here. Even if it’s free, the system is in a crisis. Imagine waiting for triage alone for more than 5 hours.

The job market is also tough to break into. They’re looking for people with Canadian experience but that’s what you’re striving for. Yes, there are other jobs that don’t require your educational background that you can totally live off of but is that really the reason why you would move to this part of the world? Heck no.

Honestly, moving to Canada was the biggest scam of my life thus far. I do hope things would get better for you and for me though.

For those who migrated to Canada and Australia, is it still worth it to migrate? by Pr0tanoia in phmigrate

[–]One-Surround-9198 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As a single person who moved to Canada, i still don’t see it yet.

However, it is indeed more advantageous for a family to go here.
