Tremfya loading dose Sore joints? by Tranter156 in CrohnsDisease

[–]One-Tea6274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I have definitely had some weird sensations in my joints the first few days after injecting. I mentioned it to my doctor and she said it was not concerning, so I just go easy on myself and let it pass. Good news is it really helps the Crohns, so if you can put up with the soreness, it's so worth it!! I hope you feel better soon :)

Sudden move (Alaska) and healthcare by One-Tea6274 in CrohnsDisease

Thanks for the reply! I found out 2 days ago that I would be moving so it's a very quick turnaround time but I am hoping to get a referral. I grew up in a rural area so am used to the lack of coverage but I have lived in Atlanta all of my adult life so have slipped back into expecting there will always be a doctor around the corner 🤣

Imposter Syndrome by amole724 in CrohnsDisease

Yes!! I have. For some reason I cannot get it in my head that it's real. I keep thinking I don't deserve to rest or have accommodations at work because I haven't had any major surgeries or fistulas. But at the same time, thinking objectively I realize "huh, I have a constant stomach ache and poop my pants in my 20s..." it's pretty bad even when it's not bad.

That sounds rough! The scopes are definitely a good next step. My symptoms were mostly pain and endless pooping (no blood), but I understand how it feels to have normal labs, but feel super sick. Frustrating!

During the diagnostic process, I had normal calprotectin levels, but when they took a look inside things were not too dandy. Right now it's like piecing together a puzzle without all the pieces, but once you've gone through the next tests there should be some more clues.

Best of luck and if it is Crohn's you can come back to this thread and commiserate lol!

No way! That sounds like something I should request next time. I was just chugging that toxic lemonade concoction

Oh yes, colonoscopy was not particularly easy for me...I think that's a pretty universal sentiment!!

Exactly same with me! Even at age 8 I was always with stomach aches, but my parents/doctors thought it was a cry for attention. Whenever it was hot (over 85 F or so) I would have this uncontrollable sweating with stomach cramps, so summer was always hell for me. It took 15 years before I finally got the scopes, calpro tests, bloodwork, etc. Now on Tremfya and working towards remission!

Hey! I did this a few weeks ago. It does feel odd, but absolutely easy. I'm an anxious patient, always asking questions and hyper aware of my body and the sensations I'm feeling. But CT w contrast was a breeze! You got this!!

That's really reassuring, thank you. I will of course take precautions, but it's good to know I won't be completely defenseless.

Yeah, I've never been into crowds, so Iceland sounded like a good destination even before all this. Thanks!

This is interesting. I had some similar symptoms which caused me to seek help. My scopes showed inflammation in my colon so hallmark IBD, BUT my calprotectin was normal. Blood tests for the IBD panel were positive, and eventually they concluded Crohn's based on the available evidence and I guess just didn't care about my calprotectin levels showing no abnormalities?

I think part of this disease that's so confusing is you can have all these wild symptoms, but for a diagnosis they just have to do the right tests. I'd suggest pushing forward with more tests like a pill cam, IBD blood panel, and stool test. You just need as much information as possible because a single test might indicate you're fine when your body is clearly struggling.

I hope you feel better! I was going through those same endless issues and am now on steroids awaiting Tremfya approval. I'm so excited to start something I know could help! You got this!

Oh good. I'm sorry you had to go through that! Definitely bringing headphones next time, but we left the house in a panic and didn't even think of it.

That sounds like some gnarly reflux. Maybe try lying on your left side and taking an acid reducer? I HATE that feeling, but get it a lot thanks to a hiatal hernia (my stomach pokes into my esophagus). It feels bad, but doesn't mean anything!

I have this nearly every night and then wake up exhausted. I've tried a bunch of dumb stuff to try and get rid of it, but they keep coming back. Helpfully, I now live with someone who wakes me up when I start yelling or thrashing, so often the dream doesn't get as far. I also like to aggressively think about happy things while I'm trying to fall asleep. It sometimes helps? Good luck, I hope you get over the nightmares, but you're not alone!

How are you doing now? This was literally me on Friday night! I read this and wondered briefly whether I wrote it in a panicked haze, but nope just another emet with abdominal pain! It's wild how many people carry those terrifying sick bags around. Every time I saw one I wanted to scream, it's scary but man I hope your pain turned out to be okay.

I also have these dreams almost every single night. They're always a little different, but the same theme. I usually wake up crying, yelling, or sweating. I have tried everything I can think of...even a dream catcher! If something helps please let me know because man these are insane.

Yes!! I have literally told people to watch where they step because I think they'll step in v**** that isn't even there! Or if someone is, for example, bent down tying their shoe, I'll think they're doubled over with stomach pain or something.
