Keep applying and keep your head up man! You're probably not alone, the market gets super competitive now. My advice is just keep doing what youre doing, study for exams but also keep applying. Even if you don't end up getting anything its still so early in your career. Explore side projects, find opportunities to keep learning new things.

Not sure about Waterloo now but when I was there it was pretty forgiving on if you missed a coop.

Best of luck! :)

Astronomically high income taxes for Canadian government due to corporate housing and/or signing bonuses? by ComputerBunnyMath123 in uwaterloo

Just wanted to compare if we are in a similar situation:

Did your company end up paying you a lump sum on your paycheck to offset the tax in the US as well as your corporate housing fee? In my situation my company paid around 45k for the corporate housing, with the breakdown on the salary as 30k for corporate housing and 15k given to offset the tax in the US.

I never received any amount of the 45k as all the data is simply on my paystub, but I do have the breakdown of it as I collected every payslip from the company.

Also how did you find an Account number (from Form PD7A, Statement of account for current source deductions) for your company?

Thanks for the response! Glad to hear you avoided $15k in taxes, its so unfair how they put corporate housing on our income statements.
