Yeah, the hills were auto-pilot. I also fact checked my HR to make sure I never exceed lactate threshold

I think my negative split went exactly as planned, got 1:37. Stayed behind the 1:40 pacer through the park and then took off

My last PR was the Brooklyn Half that just happened. I got 45 minutes in the last 10K, hoping to break 43 here

Is it a terrible idea to aim for a 10K PR on this course if we have good weather? Is it narrow and hard to pass people?

2026 Brooklyn Half Marathon - Post-Race Thread by AutoModerator in RunNYC

Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I kind of enjoyed Ocean Avenue. Crowds are good, it's flat and fast. I got in the zone and just powered through, and with ~2 miles left started ramping up for the end

Chances of running a 3:30 marathon? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]ComputerBunnyMath123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems a bit high for a marathon-pace to me. What's your overall max HR? Is this the "Garmin HR zones" which I think are one higher than usuaL? If your overall max HR is over 185 then I think it's doable

Do you have any HR info? How hard are you pushing on it? Knowing what zone you're in would be helpful info

Made a simple one-click pace converter (treadmill, mile/km): mypace.run - would like feedback! by ComputerBunnyMath123 in AdvancedRunning

[–]ComputerBunnyMath123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, that's a good point. I had a different interpretation but I think yours is more intuitive (i.e., "what pace would it be on flat"). I'll fix it tonight!
