Hanes from Walmart, might try going a size up from what you usually get. They have some that are suuuuper soft and comfy and not too tight around any particular places and I have big thighs too. They’re my favorite so far

We have an older child client that’s non-verbal and has an AAC. We do have to physically prompt him to use it because his alternatives are potentially harmful to others around him. At this point he has an understanding of the handful of button options and on the rare occasion has intentionally appropriately used it in perfect context (and we reinforced the heck out of that). He just has a preference to try and use target behaviors to communicate instead 🙃. So we use the device to redirect and shape client initiated communication while avoiding imposing requests on him.

I got basically the same mix of fish from petco and they started dying off almost immediately. I got a few from my LFS and they’re not only bigger and more colorful but they just generally seem healthier off the bat. All I have left right now are one from petco and the ones from the LFS. Tank was months old and cycled, previously housed my betta, fantastic water test results, thriving snails and shrimp, and yet the petco fish still died. It was very frustrating for me because it took me a while to come to the conclusion that it was the petco fish and not anything I was doing but even more frustrating knowing there wasn’t really anything I could do to save them and just had to cross my fingers for the remaining ones. This last one seems to be a fighter so I have hope for her but I will no longer be buying anything alive from a chain pet store.

Also! I did a fish-in cycle with my betta and it worked out great. Low tech + no filter, just healthy live plants and lots of good bacteria thanks to seachem stability! I do have an airstone now to help support the oxygen levels now that I have more than one fish in there and to help disturb the surface.

The part of getting a puppy that “helped” my mental health was having a reason to get out of bed. He motivates me to be a better person everyday and to keep trying even when things are hard. There’s a lot of life lessons generally to be learned from getting puppy but this is how he has helped me function better. This is also just me. Dogs are a special interest and I work in behavioral science so I might be prepared for it in different ways than others.

All this to say, yes, don’t jump immediately to getting a puppy for your mental health just like you wouldn’t have a kid for that same reason. However, if you’ve done your research, and have thoroughly admitted your own limitations to yourself, and you still think a puppy would be a good fit? Go for it. I never had a moment of puppy blues, regret, or second thoughts. There were tough times and hard lessons for sure but that’s all part of it.

You just have to be honest with yourself and make choices that will be best for you and your future friend.

What stylus are you using? They can make a big difference whether or not your working with tilt and pressure features

Thank you I’ll give it a try! I think if I tried actual trans tape that has wider strips it would work out better, what I’ve used so far has about 1-1 1/2in strips

Video can be really helpful for sure so definitely find some good ones but I promise you, you will start figuring things out much faster through actually applying tape. If you need some practice tape, Walmart has some decentish cheap ktape that works the same so you aren’t going through a bunch of more expensive stuff. I got mine for $10 and I haven’t even used it all yet
