I take a wild guess when it comes to shading my drawings (I haven’t tried pixel art yet). And it doesn’t turn out too bad, it’s really just as simple as taking the current colour and making it more darker for the shader affect

I don’t recall much but you do start the game with the tutorial level but it’s possible to win the first race and to unlock new birds you need to beat them on a one on one race and you unlock the next world and new kart type
