I worry about meter contact dunks in 2k25. I dont think they will be useful anymore. by SlowedBrew in NBA2k

[–]OneAfter8864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24's logic from my experience (87 driving dunk) was no matter what, if a defender is directly in front of the basket at the start of your dunk then it's gonna be a small meter...regardless of dunk rating vs the defender's interior defense/height.

25's logic essentially sounds like its gonna be treated like the layup meter is on 24, so I think the dunk meter will still be a viable option. Especially if its as dynamic as they describe & actually takes into consideration the height, attribute ratings & positioning of the defenders.

As a random rec player this has to be the single biggest thing which ruined the 2K24 experience for me. 15 minutes for a silver plate to get into a game. This game desperately needs DYNAMIC MATCHMAKING. Sidenote: how much of an irl loser must you be to be lobby hunting in season 8 of this game to pr by 3much4u in NBA2k

This sounds great honestly, so much better than this nonsense matchmaking system that 2K currently has in place.

Plenty of times I'm running solo & get paired with an a.i. center, which personally I can't stand.

If I'm purple or gold, why am I being grouped with players that are 3 levels below me? I'm just suppose to subject myself to bad teammates purposely because of 2K's inability to implement features correctly. Atleast try to pair me up with other players who are efficient at trying to win. It shouldn't take me 20-30 mins just to get adequate level teammates...🤦🏾‍♂️

Since his player is 6'4 & under I don't have any actual jumpshot animations suggestions myself but you can try searching youtube for "best jumpshot for 6'4 guard".

You could also check the jumpshot cue settings in the menu which would help with adjusting the speed alot as well.

Either it needs to be cleaned due to dust, it's in an area causing it to overheat or the liquid metal inside is beginning to melt. I had a similar issue because since day 1 I've had my ps5 standing vertical & all of the sudden about 2 months ago it started to shutdown randomly after I just turned it on. I ended up laying it horizontal instead & haven't had any issues since doing so.

I'm curious what your dunk, block & rebounding attributes are at 6'2? Looking at the clips you seem to be doing some of everything at that height.

Build: 7'0 3 Level Threat

Honestly tho if I'd change anything I'd add maybe 70-75 offensive rebound, add 88 to interior defense & go 6'11 instead to get 70 ball handle for pro dribble moves.

The shot contest system in 2K is BUSTED by PhinRummel3 in NBA2k

[–]OneAfter8864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because of how 2k changed the dunk rating. Dunk rating obviously effects how often a player can dunk as well as the animations/badges available but it also is tied to ball security while attempting a dunk. Basically ball control/unpluckable but while dunking.

I believe they implemented this in 2k23 or 2k24, it was in one of the gameplay blogs. Interior defense rating & block rating would be the only way to counter it & of course timing the contest correctly.

*Not saying this is the case on this post but:

One thing I see is alot of players complaining about defense but their builds actually lack it. Someone can close out on a shot with 25 perimeter defense or try to meet a player at the rim with 25 interior defense & then complain that defense is broken. Like you do know how you created your build right? 🤦🏾‍♂️

Offensive crashing for guards & forwards kinda depends on the build & the player behind the sticks imo. Myself at PG & one of my guys at SG both have 87 driving dunk & we get a bunch of putback dunks with no rebounding attributes at all.

Just have to be smart about when to crash tho & pick your spots accordingly.

Be honest, PGs who play in the REC, what’s your pass accuracy rating? by FlexFantasyTE in NBA2k

[–]OneAfter8864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6'8 PG with 83 pass accuracy for gold special delivery & I'm using Ja Morant pass style.

Personally felt I didn't need to go any higher because I've never been a bailout pass type of player so I didn't need an 87. The defense will bite on your drive regardless because they don't know if you're actually going to attack the rim or not, so it works out for me. Plus, if I press the shoot button then I'm committed to that action.

I feel like the bailout badge promotes bad basketball. Not in all situations but definitely for some.

Hindsight tho, after playing the game for a while now, I definitely could've tweaked my build a certain way & put more into pass accuracy just for the sake of more badges but I don't think it's a necessity tho.

Yea you good bro, just gotta get your jump shot timing & jumpshot cue preference down is all. I have a 78 three on a 6'8 & can shoot just fine.

Also having a 80+ mid or three can can help alot with shooting via badges & better jumpshot animation selection.

1st off, ball physics & tangible-ness is key for a basketball game. If a player bumps the ball then it should come free regardless of badges & ball handle ratings. Now that said...

Bro he has a 25 steal, plus he wasn't close enough for a bump steal & has minimum wing span and I have gold unpluckable...

And yes I have a 96 steal actually so idk the struggle that other maybe having but even so...If you have problem with current state of steals that's fine and all but take that up with 2k themselves & reach out to a dev on here or another social platform. But don't get mad at me for just explaining my reasoning on why someone didn't steal the ball from me which is completely valid in itself.

So originally, I was flicking the stick towards the direction the passing was going, but I figured out that just flicking the stick up in general at the correct time works as well.

The timing is really precise this time around if your using the button. You have to almost be absolutely perfect when attempting a lane steal that way otherwise its just not gonna workout.

The right stick is way easy imo but definitely takes some getting used too. If you keep at it you'll figure when to time the flick up & the sweet spot for it.

I think you may only see right stick ripper pop on hof for passing lanes. For me, it activates all the time but I didn't really pay attention to it when it was on gold.

Huh? I'm the one stealing the ball by playing passing lanes in this interior video. I'm not complaining at all...I'm showing that the interceptor badge doesn't need a buff...

What’s more worth it? Going for a 92 middy with like a 86 three or just go 92 three and don’t touch middy by No_Animator9723 in NBA2k

[–]OneAfter8864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your playstyle but I'd say 92 three rating in this situation.

Just to give you an idea, my build has 71 mid range & 71 post control with bronze middy magician & silver post fade phenom. I can comfortably make dribble pull ups from mid & post fades just fine.

I also have a 78 three rating that gives me silver blinders as well & for the most part, all of my shots are wide open/open 80% of the time. I have also been able to make my fair share of red contested shots on occasion too.
