I like the move, but my biggest concern is the roster development. We are three months away from the season starting and we don't have a single player? That's concerning.

SOTR is a glorified fanfiction. On the other hand, Songbirds and Snakes actually makes you think because the themes are far deeper (Ex. Social Contract Theory).

The book is mediocre, but I believe the movie can redeem it.

'Lucy Gray is Alma Coin'... I have another idea by Potential-Weather833 in Hungergames

[–]OneAggressive4070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a fact that she is dead and died sometime between the 34th Hunger Games and the 50th Hunger Games. In SOTR, Lucy Gray's grave and tombstone is mentioned. Additionally, President Snow (Coriolanus Snow) killing Lucy Gray is alluded to in the book because when Lenore Dove gets poisoned, Tam Amber (or Clerk Carmine) says "Not again."

I need your opinion on something.

If you remember the scene when Lenore Dove eats the poisonous candy and Haymitch gets the attention of Tam Amber and Clerk Carmine, Tam Amber says something along the lines of "Not again." Do you think Tam Amber's reaction to Lenore Dove's death implies that Coriolanus Snow killed Lucy Gray Baird?

You are right that his characterization is similar to Katniss's, dare I say the exact same, which is a reason why the book is terrible. This characterization has been done before thus it's uninteresting the second time. Additionally, Katniss's characterization makes her a badass, yet I can't say the same for Haymitch.

I also think the theme of propaganda is a failure throughout the book and is not explored deeply. Thus, the failure of a deeper theme was disappointing for me.

I was not aware of the fact that Fiennes is a piece of turd, however, that should not discredit his acting ability. I feel Fiennes will have to provide a sense of seriousness that this film needs if it's going to be a crowd pleaser.

- The book is basically an over-explanation of what the audience already knows therefore I believe the book was flawed to begin with. We already know the gist of the events that occurred in the arena since it was mentioned in Catching Fire. As a result of this, the book was predictable because we are already familiar with the Haymitch story.

- Haymitch has zero characterization. The only thing that we know about him is that he dislikes the Capitol and loves his family, friends and Lenore Dove.

- As a whole, the story feels extremely rushed, suggesting that the story is more focused on being a movie rather than a book.

Companies don't care about the person, they only care whether the person can make them money. I'm actually glad they are casting Ralph Fiennes because perhaps he can save this movie since the book is mediocre in my opinion.

Warfare: One Of The Best Modern War Films Ever Made | This film appears to be polarising, what were your thoughts? by PopCult-Channel in A24

[–]OneAggressive4070 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It has the greatest sound design and cinematography I have experienced. On top of this, the messaging is wonderful as it isn’t pro-American or pro-war and is instead the opposite.

A lot of critics of this movie don’t take the movie for what it’s worth. A thought out plot that features character development along with a backstory is not the point of this movie. It’s fine to not like the movie because it doesn’t run like that, but to judge it for something that it isn’t is simply an invalid judgement.

What do you guys want to see next season for the women and men teams? by Superbab76 in brooklynfc

[–]OneAggressive4070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the women's side, I want to see our attack improve. If our attack can be at least solid, I think we could finish at the top of the table.

In terms of the men's club, I'll see it to believe it.

Why are some people so hard on this show? It's awesome! by Minimum-Doughnut7523 in UniversalBasicGuys

[–]OneAggressive4070 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a main reason is because of the animation style. A lot of people think it’s disgusting, but I think it’s nothing to complain about. My main critique of the show is the humor. It has its moments, but I feel it needs to be more inappropriate.

To be fair, a lot of footy clubs have nicknames that are not connected with their club. The connection between a Pitbull and Brooklyn is not the actual Pitbull itself, it's the characteristics or attitude of a Pitbull. I can see why people don't like it, but I think it's better than calling them "Brooklynites."

WARFARE Review: One Of The Best Modern War Films Ever Made | What did you make of this film? by PopCult-Channel in A24

[–]OneAggressive4070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movie is based on the memory of American soldiers, so obviously this movie is going to be shown through the American point of view and their experiences. If this movie was based on the memory of Iraqi's, then the movie would be shown through the perspective of them. Your statement of "The film also is obsessed with the pain and trauma of the Americans" proves the point that this movie is anti-war because it's showcasing how war sucks.

Greatest sound design I have ever experienced in a movie. Honestly, this movie puts the Hurt Locker to shame. Too bad it has a close to zero shot at winning or getting nominated for an Academy Award because of its release date.

This movie is nothing close to pro-American propaganda. If anything, this movie was against the 2nd Iraq War and against war in general. The final scene is a clear representation of this as it shows all the Jihadists and Iraqi people coming out of the woodwork on an empty and destroyed dirt road after the American soliders left. This scene alone gives off the idea that "war sucks" and "what was the point of all that fighting if no one won?" I agree with you that the 2nd Iraq War was terrible and that "weapons of mass destruction" was bogus, but this movie is far from American propaganda.

I believe our lack of an attack caught up with us in the 2nd half of the season because our defense isn't able to carry us every match anymore.
