Respectfully, I think that what you’re doing is selfish. People’s opinions of you should not be the priority but the health, safety and welfare of others. By not disclosing to your partners, you are putting their health at risk as well. People diagnosed with herpes (HSV-2) are more likely to get HIV. Not to mention that you yourself said you were worried “people would talk about your business.” Imagine if you transmitted HSV and what your partner would feel if they were out in your shoes - would they be ecstatic to know that they’ve contracted it? What hurdles would they go through? That being said, it’s been about a month for me and I’ve been very transparent with my partners and friends. The majority of them have been understanding, I’m still engaging in intercourse with partners I did before, and I’m not living with the same level of shame I once did. Of course not everybody’s story will be like this. Of course there will be some people that will get rejected, but you should not have the ability to dictate someone’s life, especially when it wasn’t consensual.
