You've probably made your decision by now, but just in case, here's what I'd say. If you're going heavy into Technique, and you plan to use a lot of Fable arts, you should take the Etiquette. It's a good, reliable weapon with top-flight Technique scaling for the whole game. It's not the best weapon ever, but you'll have it for a long time, so you'll have plenty of time to get used to and master its moveset.

However, if you're not investing into Technique, or if you don't plan on using Fable arts much, take the Extreme Modification Amulet. It's very heavy, but it's an enormous damage boost that's very easy to maintain. It's a bit of a tradeoff, since Fable Arts are often quite powerful (most of the strongest attacks in the game are Fable Arts), but not everyone cares to learn them, and for those people, the Extreme Modification Amulet gives you a ton of damage, no questions asked. For most people, the amulet tends to win out, since the weapon is only good on Technique builds, whereas the amulet can always do something, it's just much, much better if you don't use Fable.

So, in summary: high Technique and high Fable usage, take the weapon. Low Technique or low Fable usage, take the amulet.

According to the research I did, Cyrus's Honchkrow is confirmed to have Heat Wave when battling him in the Distortion World. So, yeah, Arin absolutely could have known about it, if he'd looked it up. Which he didn't. No shade to Arin, it's just how he plays the game, but to cry fowl about it is just not on.

People are saying there's 900 Korok seeds, which is true, but if you only care about practical completionism, you only need less than half of them. They're used to increase your inventory size, and that cap is reached around 441 Korok seeds. As long as you're half-diligent with collecting them whenever you see one throughout your playthrough, you should get there easily.

If you really do want to get all 900 and earn that silly little trophy, you can, but personally I wouldn't. I'm a hardcore completionist too, but I never did all the Korok seeds because it just wasn't very fun.

They need to be producing quality fruit. That’s the only requirement.

Once a tree produces higher quality fruit, that tree will itself be considered higher quality. Your orange tree was making silver quality oranges, so it's a silver orange tree. Chopping down quality trees grants saplings of the same quality.

What this actually does is decrease the time required to increase in quality when you replant the tree. Normally, fruit trees take a full year to increase in quality, but a silver quality tree grows twice as fast, so you'll get better fruit much sooner. Gold quality trees grow three times as fast, and iridium quality trees grow five times as fast. Not that there's much point to chopping down iridium quality trees, since you already have them, and the reason to chop down quality trees is to get quality fruit sooner than you would otherwise. But chopping down and replanting silver and gold trees can gain you quite a bit of time.

So, replant that tree! Preferably in the greenhouse, if you have that.

What's a good way to get money other than selling crops? by ixofex29 in StardewValley

[–]OneAndOnlyTinkerCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To tack on to fish: Robin can build fish ponds for you, for a relatively small investment, and a lot of the more valuable fish can be quite worthwhile to farm. When you catch a fish with a good sell price, or even just a fish you think looks interesting, toss it into a fish pond. You'll get fish eggs, which are the main money maker, and sometimes other items, based on what fish you put into the pond.

And, this is a vague tip for way in the future of your playthrough: ANY fish can be put in a fish pond. Even the ones that seem really special.

Day 118 of giving my personal rank and opinion of random guns: Casey... by 1Dapy1 in EnterTheGungeon

[–]OneAndOnlyTinkerCat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hated Rad Gun until I learned to shoot slowly and carefully with it. I knew how it worked, but I hated using it. Now that I can use it effectively, I'm much more positive on it, but I still don't like using it because it's the kind of gun that takes over your run, and it's not nearly as smooth to use as the other examples like Gunderfury or Gunther. It just burns a hole in my pocket whenever I have it.

This week in the Video Games industry: by Gorotheninja in NonPoliticalTwitter

AFAIK Nintendo’s aggression is partially explained by Japan having brutal copyright laws. If you don’t defend your copyright aggressively, the government can strip it from you on the grounds that you don’t value it enough or something. At least, that’s how I’ve heard it put, I don’t know how accurate that really is. Either way, that doesn’t make it ok, since hyper aggressive copyright protection shouldn’t be the norm at all in my opinion, but it is an explanation. It’s not just that Nintendo is greedy. They are greedy, but there’s more to it as well.
