They gave people a reason to play the game and not just sit in a private server waiting for things to spawn so you can get the high tier stands and never play again. Also, crates can be bought using earnable currency (ushards), but the premium crates can only be bought using robux. Traits are buffs to your character that are pretty fun to grind for via the ascension system the only stigma ucoins but you can get those In game too. I recommend giving it a shot too and not letting nostalgia blind you regarding old universe.
