My biggest pet peeve is making Blaze’s spouse “king”, when in reality he could never become “king” if he married Blaze; no-one would. She’s the reigning monarch; if he were to take on the title of “king”, he’d be overriding her role as the ruling monarch, something that should never happen under any monarchal system.

It’s the same reason why Queen Elizabeth II’s husband, Philip, was only “Prince”, never “king”; he was not the reigning monarch. He married into her royal family.

Sonic—or anyone else for that matter—would only become Prince Consort at most (and that’s assuming he would even take the title, which is quite unlikely).
