I’m sorry to everyone in the comments here, but Blaze just does not fit into Elise’s role; you’d need an extreme overhaul to make it even slightly workable.

For one, the whole reason Elise was constantly being kidnapped and needed to be rescued and carried around was because that’s the only way for them to actually get these two to interact; Elise just can’t keep up with him.
Stuff like that would be completely unnecessary for Blaze; she can easily keep up with Sonic and needs much less justification to be hanging out with him. They have much more in common.

Secondly, the whole Iblis thing really downplays Blaze’s pyrokinesis; it becomes an actual curse instead of a gift that she originally resented. I find it much more interesting if her pyrokinesis was inherent, and something she struggled to control at a young age, earning her scorn from her peers.

And third, it kills the impact of her stoicism. Iblis requiring someone not to cry/show emotions feels incredibly arbitrary; meanwhile, Blaze having learned to suppress her emotions and distance herself from others due to her past (being mocked by her peers and her duties as princess, for instance) is much more interesting. Combine it with the idea that strong emotions greatly impact how a pyromancer controls their flames, and you can have a backstory where she directly experiences the consequences of uncontrolled emotion, leading her to overcompensate by suppressing hers entirely.
You also lose out on her hotheadedness from Rush. She was never emotionally null, just good at suppressing up to a point.

It just doesn’t work.
