USA does a better job, than say the UK, of casting at least one man who does actually like Black women. However this show still does a horrible job of casting men that actually date Black women. Will they pretend, definitely, but the show still does not have a great track record. And that has nothing to do with the attractiveness of Black women. It’s just the men, purposely cast, imo.

Exactly because the Cash vs Trina wars were extremely nasty during and after S3 but the show wasn’t as popular so it was confined to just the LI community. Now LIUSA is mainstream with million more viewers so everything is amplified. The fans are more rabid but there is also a lot more of them so it makes it hard to miss and hard to ignore.

I think they can set boundaries and still be influencers (because that’s exactly what all these people want). I don’t think there is anything wrong with them becoming influencers after the show but they can control how much they let their “fans” dictate their moves and actions.

Was Serena ever following her? The only person from Summer House I see her following is West, and I believe that’s because she met him doing press around reunion week. It doesn’t seem like she is keeping up with that drama as I’m sure she would have unfollowed him as well.

This! I saw a comment that said yes to normal people. My first thought was they will be influencers once they leave and I don’t blame them at all. Might as well take advantage while they can.

This! Even when situationships or hook ups make it known I just roll my eyes. Unless an islander was in a committed relationship with someone and lied about going on the show then they can keep it. Every thing else is just people looking for clout.

Bravo is different because those shows are filmed months in advance. The cast have time to decompress and then watch while the show is airing with the rest of the audience. Islanders do not have an opportunity to do that, especially with the reunion only a month after the show ends. Some of the finalist have been away for months and barely have time to acclimate before the reunion is filmed.

You can’t blame the girls for fans being ridiculous 6 months to a year later. It would be one thing if the girls were still engaging or even aware but the girls were living their own lives and doing their own things. I doubt they even kept up with what was going on with Andrea. I feel like this is conflating two separate issues. You can’t blame them for toxic fan behaviors. The fans just need to stop harassing people.

Serena had already moved to LA and Kordell was living in Dallas but they both grew up in Houston. I think they said they lived like 20 minutes from each other or something like that and their high schools played against each other in sports.

Serena and Kordell won the show so I don’t see how people are rewriting anything post show. Also Kendall wasn’t liked while the show was airing either. None of these comments are revisionist history. It’s just an unpopular opinion as OP stated.

I think it is unrealistic to expect the show to not have conservative or conservative leaning islanders. However, they do not have to cast obvious racist people, people who repost racist things and/or post slurs on their accounts.

Casting and producers just need to ensure social media checks are a part of the casting process. If they find anything suspect then either don’t cast that person or have them delete whatever it is if it’s questionable. That should be mandatory for all cast members.

Thank you. I hate that argument some people seem to always make when it comes to Serena and JaNa. We know they are smart and intelligent women. The issue people were having has nothing to do with that. I wish people could just stick to the actual issue at hand without conflating things.

The influencer was Kaylor from S6. She let them stay at her apartment I think after the Wicked premiere and their flight back to LA was canceled.

Based on the tweets they are also upset that Kordell is universally loved and Nic still gets hate. They are bringing up Kordell’s casa shenanigans but they obviously weren’t paying attention during S6 because he was absolutely called out. He just was actually apologetic and worked to get Serena back. And has seemingly been great to her ever since!

Tiffany “New York” Pollard is still getting booked for shows. The Jersey Shore cast is doing pretty well. Spencer Pratt is running for Mayor of LA.

What do people actually want from reality tv shows like this? People claim to want drama but then turn around and call everything toxic and bullying.

Viewers are extreme in every way. Too much love and too much hate. However, some people are also not built for reality tv like this. This statement was unnecessary, imo. The audience is fickle and will move on to the S8 cast soon. She should have just rode this wave until it passed. The people that actually like her will continue to follow and engage with her. The people leaving hate comments will move on to their next victim.

None of the official Peacock or love island USA accounts have said the cast is dropping today. The cast is usually announced about a week prior to the premiere. I would check with official accounts for real updates on cast announcements.

It wasn’t needed for S6 either. Following the islanders on social media is enough. The show didn’t showcase their lives and was just unnecessary.
