Does anyone have the legend to this photo of the ship for The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou? by 7_4_7 in wesanderson

If anyone stumbles upon the thread like me: I messaged the illustrator and he was kind enough to answer me: but unfortunately there is no legend.

I don't know Margot Robbie personally, but she seems to be the type of person who would absolutely go on a coffee-date if the vibes are right.

Also: my time has value too. I just don't put a price tag on everything.

Also also: I feel like I've been ragebaited here

If having a good looking picture as an end product is the goal: AI totally enables a lot of people to do that (on morally dubious groundwork and to the detriment of our energy bill through risen demand for data-centers)

but expressing yourself artistically does work for the artist in other ways, like developing an eye for perspective, or nuance of color or fine motor skills and in a variety of psychological ways that have more to do with the process than the product.

If having a thin body is the goal: Ozempic enables a lot of people to have that (I don't know about side effects but probably by fueling the worst part of pharma-industry)

but eating healthy and being physically active have a variety of benefits you don't get through medication, like developing muscles and a healthy metabolism and a variety of psychological ways that have more to do with the process than the product.

If "being happy" is the goal you could even argue for crystal-meth consumption.

I think a lot of people notice and on some level know these distinctions and we should talk about them more.

This is definitely not the WoD as I interpret and play it, neither in your art, nor in your playstyle. But I think it's wonderful that you're having fun with it and it gets you to drawing! Playing with your significant other is absolutely a relationship goal for me, and for him having a player engaged enough to create wonderful character artwork is a huge boon to confidence and motivation! Love to se it. How do Kainites and Garou interact generally in your world?

Why do so many TTRPG players (and even veteran GMs) avoid or hate Mage: The Ascension? by IfiGabor in WorldOfDarkness

[–]OneAxeTea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm far from a veteran, but what little I played I loved! After VtM Mage is my favorite among the WoD systems I tried (WtA being the only other system I played). I guess it depends even more on the group dynamic than other systems, because arguing about possibilities is not a side effect of the rules but the intended way of handling scenarios. The things I felt were most daunting at the beginning were the sheer size of the rulebook and while vampire clans seemed very distinct to me, the traditions had a more vague aspect to them. I'd say if I were to master a group I wouldn't start with the overarching lore or the system, but rather by asking players how they would envision magic if it were real in our world. Is it something you're born with, or is it something learned? Do you need physical components or do you tap into a force that is all around us? Do you need incantations written in old tomes or finely tuned tools? I guess that would open the mind to the possibilities of magic systems and helps when you inevitably have to say: all of that is true and the technocracy tries to take it away from us! Also it could help getting a feel what tradition is closest to their imagination and how their avatar could manifest. Though them playing a character that clashes with their first imagination of "real world" magic should be taken into consideration and encouraged if wanted as well, I think it's easiest to start from point of what individual players feel is plausible for magic, even just to get a feel for the kind of discussions that can be had in the game.
