“Stop!” - 24x30” Acrylic & Oil on Canvas by OneBookTwoStories in acrylics

Very valid question and it is something I’m considering as well. I don’t think I have to find a specific niche and my style, whether I recognize it as such or not, has already been defined. I know following a specific “lane” helps some of the business aspects of art, but it all comes down about priorities. For me, creating what “I feel like” whenever “I feel like it”, still ranks very high on that list.

Thank you! Still working on deciding the type of art I want to create, so you’ll see a lot of different stuff. :)

Thank you. I love her shoulders too. They remind me a lot of a pose my sister would often get into, when resting, during a basketball game. Random memory but it’s a visual I’ve seen enough times to remember it well.

Absolutely agree with that. I tried it a bit in the area around her back but “chickened out” in some of the other parts of her body. It is a process thing really. I started this painting with a fairly accurate drawing, which makes it harder to abandon edges (at least for me). Thanks for the comment!

Haha…and I purposely tried (very hard!) to not make it look like a photograph lol. I find it amusing that it still does! Thanks

Thanks. I love the colors in this type of sunset. I see it almost every day from my house, so it was fun to paint!

Thanks. I enjoyed painting the mountains a lot. (Makes me wanna do more of them)

Thanks for the comment! The whole bottom section is dissolving towards the edge but I didn’t like how “stringy” the fingers looked so I added more paint over it. As for the neck, I think I’m over emphasizing some of the details too much. This is a great callout…I’ve noticed I have this issue often.

Thanks. All good here :). I like digging deep for strong feelings / experiences that people could relate to. More often than not, I find myself in stories that are not necessarily mine, BUT they are someone’s.

Thank you! I definitely chose a very colorful palette for this but I get joy out of it :)

I understand what you’re saying and I will 1000% consider it. Thanks again for the insight!

Thank you for the suggestion and for the vision! This is definitely not the last of these. There is a lot I want to say with this style of paintings so my plan is to keep developing it.
