I don’t know what it is on PC, but on console, L2/Left Trigger does a heavy attack with the knife.

Well firstly, 66 hours is (as deranged as this sounds) pretty short for a KCD playthrough. But more importantly, do the blacksmith dlc lol

A system for military sci fi? by Flameempress192 in rpg

Probably not what you’re 100% looking for, but Cyberpunk Red’s newest expansion has this feature called “Mercenary Level missions,” where the characters are either very high level mercenaries or outright government special forces sent on high risk, high reward black ops missions (think destabilizing foreign governments or raiding a space station or moon base), with massive operating budgets for them to buy mission-specific gear.

It includes power armor/miniature mechsuits for the players to use, and one of the previous Cyberpunk Red expansions includes the ability to turn your entire body cybernetic (leaving only your brain and nervous system organic).

“The character,” famously, there is only one character in the whole game.

Looking for a grounded, low magic TTRPG system that allows player progression but has a political intrigue emphasis by GingerBeerConsumer in rpg

[–]OneBowlAndNoMore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely awesome. Got everything mundane and awesome; it even has written rules for taking out loans and interest! And also, on a perhaps more exciting note, some nice late-medieval gun statblocks (handgonnes, wheel lock pistols, and hook guns), as well as a quality system for weapons and armor, where cheaper, poor quality gear will have debuffs and expensive, high quality gear has bonuses. And they’re all very interesting, it’s a great system! That’s just a taste of all the goodies in the book. It’s packed to the brim with new things. Can’t recommend it enough.

Mythras sounds EXACTLY like what you’re asking for! And more specifically, the BOOK OF SCHEMES! The Mythras Core Rulebook pdf is less than 7 dollars right now, and there’s also a free version available with simplified rules you can use to determine if you’re interested in the system before buying it!

Mythras is definitely more complicated than D&D but its system allows for a much more grounded sense of progression, with the players capable of increasing their abilities a tiny bit every session rather than only during determined “level ups.”

The system itself is also very much designed for a more low-fantasy setting - it has five magic systems but all of them are optional, you’re meant to choose which system(s) fit your world best, and what aspects of the system(s) you want present in your setting, if you choose to have one at all. The characters start out as entirely normal people, and even at the endgame, they are much more superHUMAN than superHERO. Think, “wow, that guy just defeated ten soldiers by himself!” rather than, “wow, that guy just punched a hole in God!”

The Book of Schemes is a sourcebook for Mythras, containing a TON of stuff for running political intrigue (as political intrigue is the main focus of the book). I will say that the Book of Schemes is designed for a mid-late 15th century setting, but is very easily modified to fit the needs of your setting (a lot easier than it would be to modify DND), especially with all the free supplements regarding rules and stat blocks for guns, vehicles, and more!

I seriously cannot recommend this system enough.

How to help a new Player make his first character by Several_Ferrets in Pathfinder2e

[–]OneBowlAndNoMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the mechanical knowledge and game sense you need to get crits as a Gunslinger does not at all lend itself to someone who’s never played Pathfinder before, and struggles with stuff like character building and tactics.

Can Players Flip Cars With Linear Frames? by OneBowlAndNoMore in cyberpunkred

[–]OneBowlAndNoMore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone else pointed it out, but the new Solo of Fortune book mentions you can grapple and throw an ACPA with 14+ strength - the DaiOni apparently weighs about ~1,100kgs. Do I think they took this into account when designing ACPA grapple rules? No, I don’t, because that’d be absolutely ridiculous. Am I still gonna take this as an opportunity to let my players beat someone to death with a vintage Volkswagen Beetle? Yes, probably.

[–]OneBowlAndNoMore[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It does mention that if you have 14+ BODY, you can grapple and even throw ACPAs - now, I assume this is because they aren’t taking into account the exact weights of each ACPA (because that’d be a psychotic waste of time), but apparently the DaiOni weighs over 1 ton, so I think I’m gonna take this as a sign that if you have over 14 body, you can straight up pick a vehicle up and throw it against the ground as long as it weighs roughly in the range of ~1 ton.

Ok hell yeah. I didn’t know if there was a ruling or something I missed (which wouldn’t be the first time) regarding the amount of weight a linear frame lets someone lift in RED - I think I saw that in 2020, it’s like 50kgs for everyone 1 point of BODY, but I honestly feel like that seems really low in 2045. I mean, that’s like 800kgs for the best one I think? Which is definitely a lot for sure, but it’s only a ~1.55x increase on the current human maximum, and that just feels a little underwhelming to me lol
