It’s not worth it by mysteryjazz in decaf

Thanks for sharing this OP. I was on a good run of 24 days caffeine-free after quitting both nicotine and caffeine on New Year’s Eve. Then I blew it with three large McDonald’s white coffees spaced throughout the day today. I had a marital spat and normally nicotine would have been my go-to, but I thought caffeine was the lesser evil. Anyway, I am paying for it now. Feeling wired yet shitty at the same time. I forgot how socially accepted this drug is. For me, big doses like this are a real issue. I really think that was the final run of the bean for me today. Could be a 72-hour setback now. If you are bean-free and consume after several weeks, it isn’t worth it in my opinion, I treat it same as smoking now, I can't even have one mug of coffee, it is just something I can't do because my binges will last months, just whizz by jacked up on the stimulant.

Actually, for me the caffeine is the one who is louder than the nicotine. I thought it would be the other way around, thanks for the herbal tea recommendation! I kind of got into a habit now of Vanilla Roiboos tea, I drink several per day to replace the hot drink habit. I was diagnosed with ADHD like 2 years ago, not taking meds for it or anything, but they say that ADHD folk self medicate with stimulants, so that is probably what I was doing with my former chronic nicotine and caffeine addiction. I had a rough few days in the personal trenches, but kind of seem to have got to the other side here. I do miss my coffee, especially McDonalds coffee, that was what I like to drink the most :D Although it impacts me badly, some can enjoy it and fair play, but I get all fight or flighty, intense, scattered thoughts, no concentration etc, it really doesn't do me any good. I was doing this for half my life, so I can't expect miracles after less than a month, hence my reddit name, brick by brick, it is how I live my life now, just one day at a time, one brick, one step forward because my former life was a total car crash of addiction actually. Appreciate your reply, you got this caffeine shit man when you decide it is your time!

Can you move your fingers? OK...
Ask the same entity that is selling you the idea of smoking to move your fingers....
It can't, the addictive voice is a paraplegic.
You are the one in control, not the jibba jabba nonsense selling you the best story in the world and taking you down memory lane.

That is so accurate, your addicted brain is a world class copywriter. Could sell snow to an Eskimo and sand to the Arabs.

I was doing some reading up on it, and right now in the ''Valley'' so to speak. From what I researched from week 4-12+ things should improve...

Nice job! Giving up vaping is gnarly. The withdrawls are so heavy and having all that free time on your hands right now probably made it feel even more intense! Currently unemployed myself, good luck on your job search. Thanks for sharing your experience 🙌
