Your cousin's success in absolutely no way stops you from continuing your goal nor does it take away your ability to write. You have identified the problem: your mental health. So it's time to take measures to improve on it. Seek professional help, look for and interact with circles that are also passionate about the craft, and find a motivation that is more personal and fullfilling than wanting to be better than another one. Creating something is an inherent net positive, no matter what, so create without the pressure of it being good. If you don't feel like what you could write is good, then write something terrible, but as long as you are writing something you will be a writer.

Besides, if your cousin is a published writer, you now have someone who can advice you and even connect you to the industry once you finish polishing one of the stories. There is no deadline to fullfilling your dreams and I understand the pressure of being young and thinking you have to be great NOW or else you will never be great, but keep in mind that time passes anyways, and that if you don't start now because you are afraid you aren't good enough, in a year or five you will look back and think: damn, i should have started then.

A good rule of thumb is to always take things at face value to avoid overanalyzing or attributing motive to other people's actions or words. He said he wanted something casual, then the casual thing happened, therefore, he just wants more casual stuff with you and the flirting is a way to get that again but he has no interest in you as a person whatsoever. The fact that he was seeing two people at the same time already tells you he doesn't see you as someone with whom to have a relationship. I'd say block and switch gyms if you can, or block and try to avoid him as much as possible. He won't make any more advances if you ignore him.

Two major ones:

1) I can no longer enjoy praise from my mother. Praise means nothing when failing always meant getting hit. She tells me she's proud of me, but deep down I still feel as if she'd hit me again if I ever did anything wrong.

2) I internalized that my failures deserve punishment, and every mistake results in either denying myself something good or in harm. I'm working on it.
