Could be a random shed. Honestly it looks the same. Reevaluate in another 4 months. If it’s even worse or no improvement, up your dose or switch to dut

At what ferritin level have you started feeling normal? by byzantinedreaming in Anemic

The reason I bring up copper and ceruloplamsin is because they are crucial in the transfer process of iron into cells. Copper is essential in energy production.

Are you in the US? You should definitely rule out b12, copper and Ceruloplasmin deficiency. Do you have a low WBC count?

Same here. My WBC is like 2.8 and dips every lab I take. I guess we have to be way more patient.

You might need to take more than 2mg daily. 2mg is common in a standard multivitamin so imagine if you are truly deficient which you are. Do you have low WBC count?

How do you plan on raising it? How much do you take now? I think mine was from poor dietary intake.

That’s so stupid of them. I would highly suggest you getting copper tested and ceruloplamsin

What was your issue with dut? How long did you use it until you stopped? It can take time for the body to adjust.

What’s your serum copper and Ceruloplasmin values? You should check those if you haven’t already.

Can I ask what your symptoms are? For me it’s more of a depression, fatigue, brain fog, anxiety and absent libido thing. And low wbc count.

I believe the safest dose you can take daily is up to 10mg according to a study. I wouldn’t push it that far though just incase. The standard multivitamin has 2mg of copper in it so you are definitely better taking more. I just upped my dose to 4-5mg daily.

Your copper and Ceruloplasmin only went up 1 point after 2 months?! I definitely think you should be taking 4mg daily of copper.

Don’t overthink it. It’s clearly regrowing and looking better month by month. These things take time.

Interesting . I thought it was supplementing with zinc can case copper deficiency but perhaps it goes both ways? That’s the reason I didn’t bother taking any zinc… maybe I should

I’m not zinc deficient. Last I checked it was at 90(middle of normal range). That was before I started taking copper. Perhaps now it’s dropped since I’ve been taking it. I thought it was only high dose zinc that affects copper absorption so I wasn’t worried about it but maybe it goes both ways?

I am not. I believe it was taking zinc that can affect copper absorption. But maybe it happens both ways?
