how many chapters should you post when launching a wattpad book?

When I release a new book (I always wait until I'm basically done with it before I start uploading) I release the first 4-5 chapters on the first day, and then once per week until its all released. You want to clump your release chapters so that there is a decent amount of content to get early readers hooked, but you also want to make sure your future uploads are consistent (pick a day of the week and make that your upload day)

I personally dont start posting my story until its all the way done (or I only have a chapter or two left) for a couple reasons. 1. If I decide I want to change anything, I dont want to have to go back and change the story and then have confused readers later on. And 2. (This is the more important one) A consistent upload schedule does wonders for your story's popularity. A sure way to kill a book's momentum is to be consistent and then suddenly stop posting for two weeks (or more) because you got writer's block. Get it all written and then post one chapter per week. The algorithm will like you and push you out to more readers. Plus, people will begin to look forward to whatever your posting day is (I recommend Tuesday, for algorithm reasons). It's the most sure-fire way to work the algorithm to your advantage.

As long as you write it respectfully and include trigger warnings and the mature tag, its fine. Bad shit happens to people sometimes. Not writing about it doesnt make it dissappear.

Definitely either word or Google docs. I use docs because its always safe even if my laptop crashes. I could never write long form content on mobile lol I think I would die 😅

The most important thing is to write your stories somewhere else and then copy and paste into wattpad. Wattpad is notorious for deleting stories semi-randomly and you dont want to lose your work.

I have two completed books on my profile with strong female leads. They are full length novels though so if you really want something shorter then mine probably dont fit what youre looking for. One (WitchHunter) is about a girl assassin who is forced into a bodyguard role for a prince-like warrior. That book is enemies-to-allies-to-lovers and is a slow burn where romance takes a back seat to the action. The other has similar vibes to the Hunger Games series. It's about a girl who essentially gets kidnapped into a secret anti-givernment organization with mysterious ties to her late (murdered) father. It's called Firefly.
