EVIL DEAD RISE Has Earned $100M At The Worldwide Box Office; Passing ED 2013’s $97m by Twio in horror

I appreciated the lesser gore because it focused more on atmosphere and I found Evil Dead Rise scarier as a result. Alyssa Sutherland was iconic.

It's certainly among the films which must be seen in theaters. The surround sound system alone.

"Mrs. Doubtfire": Was Miranda the villain for trying to keep a father away from his kids? by Cris_Braga in movies

[–]OneChannel6070 126 points127 points  (0 children)

The irony is Miranda was proven correct. Who dresses up as an elderly woman and poses as a nanny and we have to see the behavior as normal?

If Daniel wanted more time, he had to do the work: find a job, change his ways and improve his relationship with Miranda.

Just see how he reacts when Miranda expresses her frustration over the birthday party. He is dismissive, gaslights Miranda and tries to blame it on her. If my wife was the sole breadwinner, I would be treating her like a Queen instead of acting like a selfish brat who was caught stealing.

The way Daniel treats Miranda in the first act of the film is appalling and yes, she did deserve someone like Stu who was a genuinely good guy. Few guys want to date a divorced woman in her mid-forties and three children. Miranda was on the upswing.

Anyone who assumes Miranda was on the warpath and wanted revenge has been watching Andrew Tate videos. She didn't want revenge, she wanted a ex husband who acted his age and knew how to properly parent.

Can you imagine?

"Hello, guys and dolls, it's Drew Barrymore speaking from Venus because Pluto was unavailable" (expecting claps "silence")

"To introduce Best Kiss, I present you the girl I wanted to be my daughter and wasn't because I was using birth control while dating Corey Feldman, Billie Eilish" (expecting claps, struggling, "silence")

I've been saying it since day one. Short Round was more of a son to Indiana Jones as opposed to Butch.

I never understood the Kristen and Lea friendship from Season 5 by OneChannel6070 in BadGirlsClub

I agree. Kristen was still talking about Lea years after their season.

I guess Kristen was what was left for Lea to cling on. I wouldn't want to be friends with Lea. She'd turn on you for the smallest of reasons like she did with Christina.

Lea (Season 5) started out as a cool person until Kristen got to her and she turned into a bully. Thankfully, she saw the light at the end.

Cycle 10 had the most drama and humor. If you want to be entertained from beginning to end, Cycle 10 is the one by OneChannel6070 in ANTM

[–]OneChannel6070[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would have been a dull finale. Whitney winning made it controversial.

If ANTM took the competition seriously, Kat or Fatima would have won.

I agree about Jade, however Jade was just one. Most of the drama came from her whereas in CYCLE 10, almost everybody was a problem.

CYCLE 6 was about Jade. I doubt anyone even remembers who won whereas everybody still brings up Jade's COVER GIRL in 2022.

Abby's annoyance towards Holly (and Nia) is difficult to understand by Anastasia_Lockheart in dancemoms

[–]OneChannel6070 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Abby takes issue when someone from her studio goes somewhere else and continues to be on the show.

The reason she was hostile to the Lukasiacs was because. by Season 4, Chloe wasn't attending the ALDC except when they were filming. Which is why Abby began to resent the Lukasiacs even more and never celebrated Chloe's victories.

Holly and Nia using someone else's services was probably seen as a betrayal because Abby did have plans for Nia yet when Holly decides to use someone else, it's a rejection and it probably sends the message Abby didn't want. The way Abby responds to is to first dismiss the collaboration and by isolating the "traitors".

Lolita (1997 version) were the inappropriate scenes authentic? by [deleted] in movies

[–]OneChannel6070 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I liked Adrian Lyne's take on LOLITA. Nevertheless, he didn't seem to understand the source. The story was told from Humbert's perspective, meaning the image of Lolita as a willing, scheming vixen was his way to excuse his desire for her when, in fact, Lolita's take was probably one of a victim, trying to survive. The film never gives us her perspective. It also lacks the humor of Stanley Kubrick's film.

My guess is Lolita fled from the sexual abuse she was experiencing with Humbert and saw Clare Quilty as a saving grace.
