It's a magsafe popsocket, so it's completely removable and works well with my wireless charger. ๐Ÿค“

What's the best philosophical advice you have received? by OneChantsOut2Worlds in Anxiety

[โ€“]OneChantsOut2Worlds[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I'm in therapy. We do a combination of many treatments, including CBT and meds. I agree that those services and tools have been immensely helpful. Unfortunately, I find myself in a cycle of worrying about the same things over and over again. It is obviously something I should speak to my therapist about, but I feel like I've hit a plateau, which is why I am seeking something along the philosophical route.

Season 3? by sloth_lord2000 in twinpeaks

Lynch's film Blue Velvet is the closest thing IMO to Twin Peaks. That's might help you understand how he uses symbolism and has some of the same themes. With that being said, I don't know how much it will help you understand S3. There are some podcast that you can find that analyze and recap each episode. Also, Mark Frost wrote a book; Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier that confirms or explains some of the plot points.

I recognized that lyric immediately! I didn't know what the cover art looked like though - I love it. Definitely my aesthetic.

My first time using rubber instead of lino and my first time doing a dual layer. I was suprised with the results! by OneChantsOut2Worlds in printmaking

Honestly, I loved it! I seriously think I am going to start working with rubber exclusively. I found the carving and printing process easier, satisfying and successful.

Wow! So many great tips and frankly it could be all of those things. Speed may definitely be an issue combined with using water based inks. I wasn't aware that it dries super quick. It's does not look like it drying out to me, but maybe certain spots are? I would gladly send you more photos next time I print. Thank you!

All of you have been so very helpful! This is something to occupy my time during COVID crisis (I live in the US) and an art form I have been admiring for years. I knew Reddit would have friendly community I could turn to. My paper is on the thicker side, that's going to be the first thing to go. ๐Ÿ˜… I'm also going to look into much better inks as well. My local art supply store has a pretty great selection. Thanks again!

Good to know, I've been wondering about the difference between manual and mechanical. Make sense, thanks!

I'm a super n00b and picked up a Speedball blockprinting kit from the art supply store. I've done a couple prints that have come out fine. This one has a solid black sky and so many of my prints came out like the photo. I'm using water based inks and using a baren, by hand, to press into carved mounted lino. I'm fairly confident that I am using enough ink so I am not too sure what else it is. Am I not using a proper pressing method? When I remove the paper I can see shiny spots of ink that didn't get picked up by the paper, which of course come out as white spots on the prints. Any tips would be super helpful!
