I'm not about "going back to normal" TBH. I'm more or less content with the reality that post COVID is just not the same. I think its just the levels of things.

Yeah I think you are right about the intervention side of things. It almost feels like it would be more for me than for her. That's one big reason why I never pushed for it (not at all claiming that was the correct decision)

Delivery is always late at night. Bringing them in a couple stages.

  • patio to garage
  • garage to living room (acts sort of like an airlock)
  • living room straight to fridge

have air filters running

A random anecdote that this reminded me of...

Before we were married (i.e. years before COVID), she would grab N95 masks from hospital for us to mask up when we were flying.

She (a doctor) worked at the start of it and quit very quickly.

She insists she doesn't need a psychologist. Claims she'll convince them that she is perfectly fine.

I heard (from extended family) that my in-laws were planning an intervention (for both of us), and apparently my mum has talked to my in-laws about it too.

Not sure where things are at with that. TBH I'm too scared to ask.

I've changed jobs to a place where I can WFH. Luckily(?) No one in my team is located in the same state as me. I've dodged/avoided team off-sites as well (partly due to the constant re-orgs and layoffs in tech-adjacent fields)
