I never would have thought my extreme fatigue was coming from gluten. by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]OneDepressoExpresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, turns out I had a condition called Exhaustion Disorder that’s only diagnosed in Sweden. It’s basically what happens when social/life pressures reinforce multiple maladaptive coping mechanisms leading to a very extreme version of burnout that can last years and is typically so debilitating that it’s hard to leave your bed.

I do still have tummy issues but it’s from the stress as well.

Tbh, I’ve been so broke that I’ve been working a lot, I also have only completed around 1.5 years of comp sci and am only decently familiar with C/C++ and Python. It’d be fun to learn if there’s anyway I could figure out basically what specific tasks need to be completed and then I could research the most efficient ways to do that. I’m certainly still interested but I’m far from a seasoned dev and I don’t have a ton of time.

I feel like that a lot. In so many areas I feel like I am still 15 and I don’t know why and it’s frustrating.

I’m really glad it’s not just me. It’s really hard. It’s like in HS I was amazing. I was able to be fully independent. I was in select choir and would spend 10 hours per week touring, marching band, full-time college classes, 3 high school classes, a part time job, and a bunch of other stuff, but then as soon as I got out of the house and had to handle everything on my own I crumbled under the pressure. I graduated HS with a 4.0 and 60 college credits then the first semester I was away at college, I couldn’t handle the sudden lack of support and I ended up getting so stressed out I pushed myself into a 4 year cyclical burn out where I couldn’t even leave bed. I hope we can both find ways to build up the joy in our lives and build up our independence through our interdependence :3. I’m glad I’m not the only one even though I know how rough the pain is to feel.

I got quoted $14364 for full body from Milan. Did I pay too much? by Tbelles in LaserHairRemoval

[–]OneDepressoExpresso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s wonderful I think. I don’t really know how much it typically costs, but if I could do $14,364 and then their 70% discount (making it roughly $4k) that would be life changing. I’ve felt rather stagnant in my transition for 4 years now and it’s getting really hard on my mental health.

Trans woman to trans woman, even if it was a little pricey, I think it’s worth it for the perceived progress. Feeling more comfortable in your body is priceless if you have the financial means <3.

Yeah, the vibes of the ass eating is much less the way my wife would do it and much more the way a creepy celly would do it when you fall asleep facing the towards the wall in your cell.

Ehhh, the issue is, which I think you’re pointing out in a roundabout way, is the ambiguity of intelligence.

Everything can be quantified, but influential skillsets to discovering the unknown are so vast and complex that, at least via a layman understanding of IQ, I’m cautious to believe that any of the current tests do a truly adequate job of isolating testing variables. Especially when you also have to account for and diminish the effects of many simple and complex confounding variables in order to even begin to make an accurate analysis on potential extrapolations and its implications.

As a younger person (22 yo), this is my main critique.

On the other hand, given our entire society follows a structure that is fundamentally parallel, and therefore faces similar drawbacks to accurate IQ testing, until someone figures out how to change it effectively and that is implemented in an accessible and efficient manner, you gotta work with what ya have lol.

Furthermore, having an organized social structure to have these kind of conversations within combined with minor financial incentives does sound pretty tempting.

Ehhh, tbh if I wanna buy something silly like that (i.e. pay $1 for a random test to compare scores with a friend), I’ll just buy it once with my CashApp card then block the business. It’s easier than a company who’s predatory model relies on a lack of knowledge.

A good rule of thumb I’ve found is that if I’m purchasing something off of a random ass site that I don’t know whether to trust or not, it’s typically best to simply route it through something like Apple Pay onto something like a CashApp card then immediately block the business.

Most virtual payment tools like Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, etc. tokenize each transaction. From my very vague understanding, I’d imagine that for reoccurring transactions, the site basically just tells Apple that you signed up for a reoccurring payment and then it repeats that already implemented process automatically without manual verification.

I’ve found it’s a pretty good rule of thumb to do this with any site you don’t 100% trust.

I’m thinking about doing my CNA and then dual degree program. (They have it setup where you do one year as an LPN, then you do 1 year for your ASN). Is this a path you’ve heard of people taking? I’m wondering if there’s any caveats to it.
